\\Your POV//

Today was just like any other normal day. Well, as normal as any day could get around here, really. I was walking into the main room in the office at the Armed Detective Company, carrying many, many files and such. I obviously needed some help, but no! Of course no one would come to help me out!

Well, no one. Except for him.

He started walking up to me and I panicked slightly. I had been avoiding him as much as possible for the past week or so. It's not that I didn't like him or anything, not at all. It's just... I got this strange feeling whenever I'm around him...

"Hello, (Y/n)! Are you in need of some assistance?~" He chimed. I sighed, quite loudly, may I add.

Ranpo Edogawa.

"Tch, obviously," I snapped, rather annoyed that he even wasted time asking when the answer was very clear.

"Oh, then would you like some help?~" My eye started to twitch slightly.

"Yes." I retort. Why can't he just help already?

"Alright, then. Now, what would you like me to take?~" And that's when I just mentally facepalmed and walked past him. When you avoid someone, you try not to talk to them unless absolutely necessary.

Bippity Bobbity Boo, Le Time Skipparoo!

It's been almost two weeks since I started avoiding Ranpo. And he's obviously noticed it. And now, because of that, I feel guilty! Why must you toy with me so much, emotions?!

I walked into the room, coffee in hand, and started towards my desk. And, of course, that's when Ranpo got up and started walking towards me. In a slight panic, I turn around and go to the door quickly.

"(Y/n)! Hey, wait a minute!" He yelled as he started speed walking towards me. I reached the door, and so did he. "Hey, I need to talk to y-"

"Sorry, can't right now. I've got important..." I held up a folder and flipped through some of the documents, slightly obnoxiously. "Business to do. Sorry, but this needs to wait." I finished and quickly walk out, closing the door harder than I intended.

I sighed and started walking out of the building. As I was walking in the park, it crossed my mind of what I might be feeling...

Magical Time Skip brought to you by The Madman with a Box.

The next day, I came into work earlier than usual. The only ones here were Dazai and Atsushi, besides myself. The other two were doing their own thing while I was calmly minding my own business at my desk.

Only about five minutes had gone by when I noticed the door knob start to turn, then, shortly after, the door creaked open for a few seconds until it was full on yanked open.

Who stood there? None other than Ranpo Edogawa himself. I continued to sip my morning coffee, not looking even in the same direction as him anymore.

And he noticed that.

His usual care-free, happy-go-lucky smile and attitude was wiped away and replaced with some very salty and sour stuff. No, not sweet and sour. Salty and sour. Double trouble.

Ranpo stalked over to his desk and sat down, crossing his arms in the process. What. The. Hell. (A/N: btw, I might curse from time to time so young ones, hide your eyes!) This isn't like Ranpo. Not at all! Even when he was angry about something, he wouldn't act like this. What was he playing?

I stole glances at him throughout the whole day. It didn't look like he'd moved an inch each time I looked at him. I was beginning to worry a little... I hadn't even realized I was staring until he looked at me. I immediately averted my gaze as I felt my cheeks warm up ever so slightly.

Once the work day was officially over, I tried my best to get out and home as fast as humanly possible. Matter of fact, I was in such a hurry that I failed to notice that Ranpo was nowhere to be seen.

The moment I closed the door to the office, I was met with the face of a clearly very angry Ranpo.

"(Y/n)." His voice was very serious, too serious for Ranpo. I gulped unconsciously. He just kept glaring.

"Oh... Hello, Ranpo." Despite my best effort, my voice was not the steadiest thing in the world right now. I mentally cursed myself for that. Ranpo sighed.

"(Y/n), look... I'm not one to hold a grudge or be angry like that in general, it's just... What's going on with you lately?" Ranpo's angry expression dissolved into something I couldn't quite place in a single category.

Was it sadness?
Despair?
What?

I guess I was taking way too long to respond, because Ranpo looked at the floor and sighed again, loudly.    "(Y/n), I have a question..." I nodded quickly. Ranpo sucked in a breathe. "Do you hate me?" He looked me dead in the (eye/bangs) (A/N: Just in case XD). My eyes widened.

"What?! Of course not! Why would you think that?!" I asked and yelled softly at the same time.

"Well, you've been avoiding me a lot for the past few weeks... I mean, why else would you do that..?" His expression changed to a hurt one.

"Ranpo, I don't hate you." I looked down at my suddenly interesting feet. "Quite the opposite, actually." I mumbled. Ranpo easily caught on to what I meant. He put a finger under my chin and lifted it gently so I would look at him.

We both leaned into each other until our lips collided. My hand went to his should while his cupped my cheek. Eventually, after a long, sweet kiss, we had to break for this gas that people need to breathe. I think it's called air?

We gazed at each other for a bit. We shared a smile and I even giggled a little. Without a word, Ranpo and I intertwined our hands and walked out of the building. We silently went to the park just to enjoy each other's company.
