Song: Johnny Boy by twenty one pilots

\\2nd Person POV//

It had been a long day at work. Not that you did much work, anyway, but still. All day, you had to deal with Lucy and her endless talk about random things. But what bugged you the most was how she kept raising one topic in particular.

Your crush.

You had told Lucy the evening before when you two decided to grab some coffee after work. You know, 'catch up'. And the moment she brought up the topic of love, it all spiraled into a deep, dark, bottomless abyss from there. And so, today, you were endlessly plagued by Lucy and her excitement. Now, you love Lucy like a sister. She's your best friend, don't get me wrong! But really, who wouldn't be annoyed by something like that?

On your walk to your apartment, you passed the park. Now, you always passed the park, but on this particular day, at that very moment, you decided to enter said park.

It was a very nice day. It was mid-spring, and the weather was actually quite calm. It wasn't too hot, nor was it too cold. The gentle breezes that came every so often weren't too strong, and they weren't too cold. They were quite pleasant. The trees and plants that riddled the park were absolutely gorgeous! The shades of greens of most of the trees were so beautiful, and the blossom trees were indescribably remarkable!

You walked around the park for a while, not even really thinking about anything in particular. You were just admiring the beauty of the park on this fine day.

It had gotten quite late without you noticing, and the sun had already started to set. You sat down on a bench nearby. Not many people were at the park anymore, and the people that you did see were mostly making their way out of the park and to their homes.

You turned your head towards the clearing of trees directly in front of you, giving you a perfect view of the sunset. Without even realizing it, you start to hum. Its just a little ear worm that's been in your head all day. Nothing much. Then, still without realizing it,

You sing.

\\Mark's POV//

I had been walking around the park for a few hours now. I just thought that since it was such a nice day, and since I was stuffed up in an office all day, I might as well just enjoy the weather.

Soon, the sun started to set, so I started to make my way out of the park and to my humble abode.

I was walking past one of the tree clearings, but I stopped when I heard something. Someone was singing, and they were very good at it, if I do say so myself. I back up a little and turn myself to face the person who was singing. I walked closer every so slowly. I stopped walking the moment I could hear the lyrics clearly.

"Get up, Johnny Boy! Get up, Johnny Boy! Get up 'cause the world has left you lying' on the ground!"

Oh, Johnny Boy! I love that song! I started to walk closer, and as I did, the person who was singing started to look kind of familiar...

\\2nd Person POV//

You kept singing, thinking of how this song got stuck in your head in the first place. It was stupid, really. The reason this song was stuck in your head was because your crush loved this song.

Mark Twain loved this song.

"You're my pride and joy! You're my pride and joy!--" You stopped singing when you heard another voice join in.

"So get up Johnny Boy 'cause we all need you now!" The voice sounded amazing. And, kind of familiar...

You quickly whipped your head around to see him standing there. The guy that had Lucy blabbing on all day. The guy that got this song stuck in your head in the first place. The guy that you couldn't help but fall for. Mark Twain.

You turned back around, facing forward. To say you were embarrassed was an understatement. You never liked an audience for when you did things like sing, even though you absolutely loved to sing (A/N: If you don't, sorry). You could feel your cheeks heat up as Mark took the empty space that was next to you on the bench.

There was a silence. It was awkward for you, but it seemed as though Mark found it pleasant.

"You're a very good singer," Mark broke the quiet suddenly. You felt your cheeks heat up more, if that were even possible.

"Thanks, you too," You replied quietly. (A/N: The italicized words not in quotation marks are your thoughts) Really..? Really?! That's the best you could do, (Y/n)? 'You too'!? WOW. You were so busy mentally scolding yourself that you had failed to notice a few things.

1: You failed to notice the fact that you were zoning out slightly.

2: You failed to notice the face you were making, which was a, well, scolding type of face.

and 3: You failed to notice Mark and his actions.

Mark was leaning closer to than he was before, waving a hand in front of your face until you snapped back to reality. When you came back from your own little realm, you did notice Mark's kind of worried expression.

"(Y/n), are you ok? You zoned out on me for a couple of minutes..." Mark started, putting his hand down but not moving away.

"Oh, yeah...  I'm fine." You simply say as you keep your gaze off of Mark. The two of you just sat there in silence, watching the sunset.

The whole time you were watching, though, Mark was slowly and silently scooting closer to you. Then, he tried doing something he saw in a lot of romantic movies.

Mark fake yawned and stretched his arms up in the air, and while he was putting them back down to his side, he put his left arm around your shoulder and pulled you closer.

You gasped silently, but you then smiled and leaned your head on his shoulder.

And it wasn't long until Mark turner your head gently towards his by your chin and leaned in. When your lips touched, it was like magic. His were so soft, and they were very talented when it came to kissing.

When you both reluctantly pulled apart, you shared a warm smile with Mark.

"So you can sing and you're a good kisser!~" Mark put his arm back around you. You both finished enjoying the sunset together in a very comfortable silence.
