Part 3 - The master plan

After that incident in the kitchen, the twins seemed to be giving you more attention than before, or was that your imagination? Maybe you were just being paranoid.
You decided to take a short break and seeing as Haruhi was free as well, you sat down next to her on the couch and started talking. You two were getting closer, you had already paid her several visits at her house and she came by a couple of times as well and was very delighed to find out that your house was more or less modest than what she had seen at the others. It was a Japanese style house, with a koi pond in front, your favorite place.
"So, I see that Hikaru and Kaoru are giving you a hard time now." Haruhi said and you just shrugged.
"Not much than before I guess." You said and took a sip out of your tea cup. Haruhi quirked an eyebrow and nodded.
"By the way, Hikaru asked me to tell you that he needs to talk to you alone, so if you could go meet him after club in our classroom." Haruhi said and you cocked you head confused.
"Why pass that message to you and not just tell me directly?" You asked mainly to yourself
"He said it was important and he didn't want Kaoru to know, but he didn't find the time when he wasn't with him, so when he was finally alone he just told me cause I was closer." Haruhi explained and you blinked. Ok, that was strange. What could Hikaru possibly have to say. If it was to that incident, this time you were prepared to just be calm and deny everything
"Well, sure, I can see him for a couple of seconds." You said and glanced towards the twins. Hikaru caught your glance and smirked deviously. You quickly looked the other way.

The day went by pretty quickly, most of the club time was spent bickering with Tamaki and how he was not your father.
After club was over you grabbed your things and went back to the classroom. You still had the maid uniform on, you were planning to change later. When you opened the door, you saw the boy sitting at his desk, his usual brown hair neatly done, the parting on the right belonging to that of Hikaru. But as you got closer, something seemed rather off. When he looked up at you and smiled, your heart started racing like crazy and your breath hitched slightly.
"_____, thanks for comming! I actually have something important to tell you and it couldn't wait!" That voice, your heart was going haywire. No doubt about it, this was the boy that you so desperately like.
"Actually, I've been wanting to tell you for a while now." He said as he got closer until he was right in front of you and gently took your hands in his.
"____, I... I like you! Please go out with me!" Hikaru said and your eyes widen suddenly. He had an expectant look on his face.
You opened your mouth to speak, but closed it back. You slowly retreated your hands from his and took a stept back. How...Why....
"Is this some sort of joke?" You asked quietly.
Hikaru seemed shocked at first but quickly shook his head and took a step forward making you just step one back.
"No, of course it isn't!" He said and tried touching you but you quickly jerked out of his way. You felt so hurt, so disappointed. Your heart ached so hard you wanted to just die.
"_____" he said slowly "what's wrong? You... don't like me the same?" He said looking down.
You threw him a cold glare, which made him wince and take a step back.
"You can drop the act anytime" you said slowly.
"What ac..."
"I know you're Kaoru!!" You looked back, hurt filling your eyes.
Kaoru opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out.
"Did you think that you could do the same to me as you did to any girl that conffessed to you in middle school?" You strightened up looking more confident. You didn't want to break in front of the boy you liked. The only reason why you could tell them apart, because you liked Kaoru, so this little stunt they played, for him to pretend to be Hikaru, hurt you.
It wasn't long until the door opened and Hikaru walked in the room.
"So, you really can tell us apart! Why didn't you say anything sooner?" He asked and came closer. Now you were stuck between the two handsome devils.
"What does it matter? It's not like it's a special power that I should feel proud of and show off." You said trying to stand your ground, but they were slowly cornering you and you were getting fidgety.
They were both so close now, and because Kaoru was so close, it made you heart beat like crazy. You just wanted to run, but they seemed to not let you go so soon.
"But, ______" Hikaru started
"We're curious why" Kaoru ended.
"I don't know, you are just different like that" you said looking down, any confidence you had melted away when they were so close that you felt their breath on your skin.
"I think that you're lying" Hikaru said smirking deviously
"And liars needs to be punished" Kaoru continued and passed his hand through your hair slowly, his touch leaving trails of electricity down your spine.
You gulped and just stood quiet. If you were to talk, your voice would come out so broken.
"I...." you just managed to say and tried brushing past Hikaru but he stopped you before you could go any futher.
"Now now, _____, what's the rush?" He asked seductively.
"Listen, I have karate training with Honey-senpai, and I don't want to keep him waiting." You blurted out and pushed one more time, this time managing to go past the mischievous boy.
"Fine, you're off the hook this time, because of Honey-senpai" Hikaru said and put an arm over his brothers neck.
"But we're not done yet." Kaoru said and folded his arms over his chest.
You gulped and just stormed out of the classroom, heart beating like crazy, the blood pumping into your face.
