Part 5 - The confession

"Beacuase I like one of you!" You said and bit your lip waiting for a reply. But all you heard was silence, which was killing you. You slowly opened your eyes and looked at Kaoru first. He just seemed to stare at you. It was unbearable. Even worse when you heard Hikaru chuckle.
"Well, yeah, but which one?" He asked. Your head snapped up and looked at one then another.
"Huh?" Was all you managed confused.
"We know that you like one of us, but which one?" Kaoru asked once again to clarify.
So they knew? Well, you kind of expected that since Haruhi realized.
"That doesn't matter. I answered why I can tell who is who, I don't have to say any more." You said and stared down at your hands that were resting in your lap.
But the two boys didn't want to let it go so easily. They looked at each other and smirked. They both stood up at the same time making you a bit jumpy and you just stared at them confused. Hikaru was the first one to make a move. He slid out of his jacket and started unbuttoning his shirt.
You stared wide eyed.
"Whoa, what the heck you doing?" You asked scared and the boy just pulled down his shirt, leaving his bare torso on display.
"Have you lost your mind Hikaru?" You gulped sensing your face heat up at the sight. The older brother looked at his sibling, who said nothing and started copying his brother's actions. Now you felt your face go a million shades of red when Kaoru was half way unbuttoning his shirt, you just cracked and stuffed your face in your hands.
"Stop it Kaoru! Just stop!" You wailed and the boy complied and stopped undressing. Well, every cover was blown and you couldn't bare to look at any of the two. You heard some shuffling as Hikaru was putting his shirt back on and as they sat back down next to you.
"Well, Kaoru, I guess we know the answer" Hikaru said with a hint of triumph that he found out. You felt so embarassed you could die.
"Why didn't you say anything sooner? _____?" Kaoru asked and you brought yourself to look at him through teary eyes.
"I... I didn't want to interfere with your bond. You have a stronger bond than any siblings I've seen! I couldn't bring myself to actually say anything" you admitted.
"And even if I were to say anything" you continued as you stood up and straightening your skirt "I know that you wouldn't return the feeling." Your eyes laid on Kaoru and he opened his mouth to reply but now that you've started you wanted to finish it.
"As obvious as it was that I liked one of you, same is in your case." They both remained wide eyed and just listened without a word.
"I know how to feel for Haruhi... heck, if I was a guy, I'd probably have fallen for her as well." You smiled sadly and turned around, walking towards the door.
"I'm sorry I've kept silent until now. I feel much better now that I've actually said it!" You said and stretched your limbs like a huge weight lifted off them, and in a way it did. You turned around and smiled at the two.
"Sorry if it's awkward, but I promise that I will not let show during the day when we spend time! Well, if there is no club today, I think I'm just going to go and train a little. See ya tomorrow, Hikaru, Kaoru" you said as you looked at each when you said their names. They seemed to be dumbfounded by your reaction and confession, because they seemed like broken toys. You waved goodbye and exited the club room. Once you were on the hallway, the tears started flowing ruthlessly down your tears and you almost sprinted down the hallway until you bumped into someone. Looking up through misty eyes you saw Takashi and Mitsukuni.
"_____-chan..." Honey said sadly and all you could do is rest your head on Takashi's chest and let your tears stream down. The brunette just patted your head and let you cry.
What a horrible ending...

Kaoru's POV

After the initial shock, me and Hikaru rushed towards the door to catch up to _____ and confront her once again, but as we opened the door we saw Honey and Mori senpai were holding her, and surely, _____ was crying. Honey saw us and just silently signaled us to stay away. For the first time I saw malice in the little boy's eyes. That send a cold chill down my spine, and I'm sure Hikaru felt the same. We obliged and just closed the door.
"Kaoru...." Hikaru said and I looked at him
"Were we too hard on her?" He asked, guilty in his voice. I just nodded sadly looking down. We were too hard, and we had to make it up for that. And also... she liked me... ME! she knew who was who because she had feelings for me and me alone. A weird feeling stirred up in my stomach and I had to go and sit down. Hikaru followed. I glanced at him. His gaze was lost. I knew what he was thinking. He was taking a liking into ____ But what will I do? What if he says he wants her... would I give up so easily? But... do I feel anything for her? I closed my eyes and let my thoughts drift.
