CHAPTER SIX
"Okay," Colin said. "So, um, do you think you're ready... Or whatever it is they say... My God, I'm a rubbish teacher."
He had taught me what he knew, which apparently was a lot. He probably knew more and just wouldn't tell me.
"You're not a rubbish teacher! You were brilliant! And yeah, I think I'm ready..." I said. "Well, probably, anyways. As much as I'll ever be." I looked him straight in the eye. "Don't be so hard on yourself." I was joking, but he was being unnaturally negative. He usually had loads of self-confidence (more than a usual person, in fact), and this was unlike him.
I patted his back, and offered him a smile. I hated to see anyone I cared about feeling bad. I certainly know what that felt like.
"Right, then. D'you reckon we should tell the others about this?" he asked.
"The Room? But didn't you say that was "our secret"?" I looked at him, confused.
"No, about the duel," he replied. "The Room is still a secret."
"Why, anyway?" I asked. "Are we ever going to tell them?"
"I don't know, maybe some other time."
"Alright, but why don't you want to tell them?" I persisted.
He grinned at me. But he didn't answer.
What was wrong with the boy, anyway? He's acting strange. I mean, he always acts somewhat strange, but this was different.
Boys. Very temperamental. According to one of my muggle friends (who I haven't thought of in years), younger ones are the worst.
"So, erm... Now what? That's all you have to teach me, yeah?"
He nodded.
"Shall we leave, then? We're going to Hogsmeade tomorrow, I don't want to be up late," I said.
"Oh yeah, that! I'm lookin forward to it! You're right, we'd better go," he agreed.
We walked back to the common room, and stopped in front of the passageway.
The woman in the painting looked at us.
"I view the world in little space, am always restless, changing place; no food I eat, but, by my power, procure what millions do devour. Who am I?" She asked.
"Hmm..." Colin said. "Er- I have no idea," he admitted finally.
"It's the sun," I said. "Right?"
The woman in the painting nodded, and the trapdoor swung open.
We walked into the Common Room. Nova and Tessa were sitting on two poufy chairs next to the fire.
"There you are!" Nova said. "We were starting to wonder. Where were you?"
"Oh... Colin was showing me some duelling moves. This Hufflepuff girl, named Roshni, said I either had to quit the Quidditch team or duel her... And if I didn't do either of those, she'd get me expelled."
"That's bloody stupid," Tessa said. "What's wrong with her? I mean, no offence, but you're not that good. Why did she threaten you?"
"I don't know!" I said. "Can we please forget about this?"
"Of course," Nova said, and was about to say something else when Henry, Thomas, and James walked in, and Thomas said, "what's all this about?"
I rolled my eyes, and explained.
"Well, that's nice," Henry remarked.
"You're not even that good a Quidditch player,"James remarked.
"Thanks very much," I replied sarcastically. "But I've already been told that by my lovely friend Tessa."
"Sorry," he muttered. He didn't really mean it though, I could tell.
"I'm going to bed," I told them.
"Alright, I'll come too," Tessa said.
"I guess so will I, then," Nova agreed. "I don't particularly want to sit here listening to these four talk about whatever it they do."
The two of them followed me upstairs, and I remembered the first time we'd done this, three long years ago.
*******
The next day I got up early, and put on muggle clothes (you can never be too careful when going out of Hogwarts), and tried to work on my homework.
I had stuff on Charms, and also Potions, two subjects I wasn't bad at. But the homework at Hogwarts was so horrid.
A few hours later, my friends finished getting ready and we ran downstairs.
I loved Hogsmeade. It was so much fun! All the shops... I love shopping. Unhealthfully so for a working class girl.
Thank god for Araneus and all the money he has. Otherwise, I wonder if I could actually go to Hogwarts.
Tessa linked arms with me and Nova and skipped along the path.
"Erm, Tessa, why are you skipping?" Nova asked.
She shot her an annoyed look. "Because my brother is over there, and he hates it when I skip. And since I love annoying the git, I take every chance I get." She kept skipping, half-dragging us along.
For obvious reasons, Nova and I didn't do it with her, and she rolled her eyes.
"Guys, just play along, okay?" She hissed. "I look stupid doing this all alone."
"I wonder why..." I muttered.
Nova snorted.
"Well, you two are bleeding helpful," Tessa glared at us, and tossed her long blond hair.
"Soooorry," I sad, extending the O like a always did.
"I'm serious, it's not okay. You two haven't had to live with a monstrosity like I have all your life," she said.
"True," Nova admitted.
"Guys, can we stop arguing about skipping? We're here now," I said.
"Yay!" Tessa said.
"Where to now?" Nova asked.
"Honeydukes!!" I exclaimed. "Obviously!"
"Obviously," Tessa replied.
We walked in its general direction, stopping once or twice to stare at window displays, or the occasional person (hehe), and then I heard something. It was very faint, barely a whisper: "Morsmordre!"
And then something flashed in the sky.
I looked up, and saw something that every witch or wizard fears.
The Dark Mark.

The riddle I got off Yahoo Answers, so if it belongs to the person who said it, then all rights to that person!!!! Obviously!! I would hate getting arrested for plagiarism... I despise copying... (BTW this doesn't count, it's fanfiction and it's brilliant, so...)
So guys, I'm not updating till this chapter has 4 votes and/or comments. As I said in my author's note, I'm lazy, and incentive helps me update faster. Especially 'cause I'm working on another that has longer chapters. So yeah. Hope you like it,
(Song on the side is Bihotz by Ken Zazpi, one I've only heard like twice!! Listen to it!! Do it now!!)
