Chapter 5: One Step, Two Step

~A Year Later~

The usual scream of Brooke being annoyed by her brothers rings through the house making the mothering job so much harder. I physically have to snatch the boys up and put them in the corner where they sit till I come get them. You don't know how hard it is parenting three kids while your husband is at work. Peetas father called in saying that their busy and one of the employees are sick and so he had to go leaving me with the children.

Soon Brooke and her brothers start getting along more. It's easy to tell them apart as Jayden has blonde curly hair and blue eyes and Brooke and Maliki have brown hair with blue eyes but they all look similar it's just the boys look a little more like Peeta than me and Brooke has more of me but somehow their all identical to each other. So it's been a while since Johanna's funeral, it was incredibly sad and I cried a river as Peeta comforted me. As long as Eloise is with a great family and she is, Flynn loves her so much and treats her exactly like a brother would and I know Johanna would be happy.

After the funeral I was told at what happened... Gale. It was all him. He got her pregnant and beat the living day lights out of her. It all happened when he started to threaten Annie and Finnick when they got home, he threatened to take Eloise away from them and run away with her but Finnick wouldn't let him near Annie or the kids and Annie ran into the master room with the kids and called the police with the door locked. After they arrested him and questioned him, they put him in for threatening Annie and Finnick and by technically murdering Johanna. My best friend.

Peeta and I watch as our little girl stands were both shocked and Peeta calls over knowing she adores her daddy. Giggling she takes a step. One step, two step and falls down, I rush over and stand her up and I stay behind her making sure she doesn't hurt herself and Peeta calls for her again and she laughs wobbling to her daddy's arms. We soon hear squealing and we see the boys both standing. I call them over and without fail Maliki wobbles over to me almost falling but doesn't and crashes into my arms soon followed by his brother who fell twice trying to walk

"I can't believe they already took their first steps" I say happily yet upset looking at the videos I got luckily on the camera

"I know. Their growing up fast" he says sadly

"Too fast"
