Falling For His Smile

Chapter 12

Max's POV

I was sitting in Pete's dressing room while he was getting ready for their show. "Why are your pants so tight?" I asked him. "Why not?" he responded. "You guys are on in 10!" a man yelled into the dressing room and then hurried to close the door.

  "Your sweaty boyfriend is being annoying. He keeps trying to hug me." Tyler whined as he ran into the room, Josh following close behind. "I'm his girlfriend, not his mom. Just push him in the shower." I advised Tyler. Tyler's face brightened at the idea of pushing Josh into a body of water, any body of water.

"Thank you for the permission to drown your boyfriend." Tyler said as he turned around to face Josh. Josh realized what Tyler had said and ran out of the room, Tyler chasing him.

Pete stood up and walked out of the room as I followed him. We walked down the hall towards the stage where a man was holding Pete's bass. Pete silently thanked him and walked towards the stage.

  I stood on side stage watching as the four danced around and played their set. A pair of arms wrapped around my waist, startling me. I turned around and saw Josh, smile sitting on his lips. He gave me a peck on the lips and pulled me back against his chest, holding me tighter.

  I felt safe in Josh's arms. The only other person that made me feel this safe, not only from others but from myself, was Pete. They were the most trustworthy people in my life right now and they mean so much. Without them, especially Pete, I wouldn't be who I am.

When the boys came off stage, I smiled at Pete. He came over to me and gave me a kiss on the cheek. "You smell. Go shower." I said with a laugh. "Anything for you, your highness." Pete joked. I rolled my eyes and pushed him towards his dressing room, smiling back when he looked over his shoulder.

  I enjoyed my life. I had Josh, the world's best boyfriend. I had Pete, the best big brother I could ask for. My life was great and I'm glad it stayed that way.
