What's up Wattpadians of Wattpadia? This is Carly, AKA carlysuerose, AKA Fishay Fishay coming to you not-so-live with a new interview for you!
Today, 10/11/13, I interviewed none other than PandasAreEvil456, AKA Kelly, about her book "Somone to Save You". Kelly's also known for her multiple Heroes of Olympus/Percy Jackson fanfictions. She has two original stories: A completed one, entitled Broken Beyond Repair, as well as the one I interviwed her on, Someone to Save You.
The interview follows:
Hey! So glad you agreed to do this! You're, like, one of my fav authors ever! So, ready to get started?
Totally! (sorry if I take some time to reply)
Oh, its fine. I haven't been on in a long time, so I'm trying to update while doing this. I might take some time too.
Okay, question numero uno:
In your book, the main character, Ethan Woods, moves to a new housewhere he discovers A diary left behind by the daughter of the previous homeowner. How does Ethan feel about moving, and have you ever felt the same way?
omg I feel like I'm doing a school thing lol ^.^
xD ikr?Whenever I do these things, I tend to go into worksheet mode. lol
Well, I personally haven't moved for around... eight years? So, I can't say I know the feeling too well personally. However, many of my friends do move around often (my best friend just moved, actually) and they're often telling me stories about how they either don't or didn't want to and how it affected them.
Ethan obviously feels misplaced and quite down; it's never easy getting used to a different home, and it doesn't come with an optimistic attitude. However, Ethan has always been on of those "look at the bright side" people and is giving an effort to adjust.
Ethan sounds like he would be a great friend to have. However, as a writer, you can't make your characters totally perfect. What are some of his major flaws?
Ethan is very curious. He likes getting into people's business and doesn't always know when to draw the line. He also doesn't enjoy giving people their space; if he sees a friend is down, he'll feel like it's his duty to make them better, even when all they need is some space. Ethan can also be careless with what he says and does.
Hmm...That sounds familiar...
*wonders why while readers look at me out of the corner of their eyes*
So, what inspired you to make this story?
Wait what why OH LOL NO I didn't base it off that character, lol. not at all.
Uh, okay. Inspiration? More like I just finished my first original story and was having a panic attack because I just could not think of another idea. I was like crying and frustrated so I asked my mom. She started throwing ideas around and I kept saying no to them and then it suddenly came to me like BOOM DIARY.
xD Sounds like you and your mother are pretty close.
Yeah. We have our fights but if I need her she's there for me. (:
Aww, how sweet! I bet she really cares about you and your future.
Speaking of future, do you have any plans? Is writing going to be you full-time career, or just a side hobby?
