| I tried my best to clear this one up a bit. This story is already pre-written and a lot of the stuff hasn't been changed. I'm so sorry if it gets confusing and I really appreciate shantii14__ for pointing that out. If you all have any questions, just post it in the comments and I'll get back to you all. |
-Next Week
"All I'm saying is that you have no business telling my ex about what I'm doing."
"And all I'm saying is that you are blowing this way out of proportion. Darrius asked where were you, so I told him." Candy shrugged.
Darrius came to my class, creating a huge scene! My male friends had to drag him away! I can't believe Candice would do that!
"I don't even care. I'll be back later."
"Have fun." She muttered.
I rolled my eyes and gathered my things. I can't stay here.
-In Rodney's Car
"You could always move in with me, ma." He said.
I started to laugh a little at his comment until I realized he was serious, "Rodney, I can't move in with you."
"Why not? You've been staying with me."
"Yeah, but I didn't really have a choice."
He sucked his teeth, "Taiah, why do you have to be so complicated?"
"How am I being complicated?"
"You're having problems with your roommate, saying you don't want to stay with her anymore. Then, when I offer for you to stay with me, you turn it down. What are you going to do? Either stay with the girl, or stay with me."
"I could stay by myself." I mumbled.
"Shut up, Taiah."
"You know what? You shut up! All you do is talk about me and how I'm complicated when you're not so easy your own self! You are cocky, hot headed, secretive, and just aggravating!"
He didn't say anything. He just leaned on the door and kept driving, "And get off the door before you fall out." I said in a quieter voice.
The car came to a stop, "Get out." I scanned my surroundings. Thugs everywhere! They were smoking, drinking, and laughing. I don't have a clue of who these people are and he expects me to just get out? I don't think so!
"You want me to get out?" I laughed, "Psych!"
"Get out, Taiah."
"Why?"
He sighed. He must be crazy if he thinks I'm just going to get out of the car.
"Sparky in there."
"So?" I shrugged. "I'm not just going to get out. I don't know these people."
"I'll be in there in a minute." He started losing patience.
"Okay then, so will I."
"Just go inside lil girl!" He yelled.
My eyes got wide. I grabbed my purse and got out, slamming the door.
"Hey, sexy!" One of the dudes called, walking up to me.
"Leave me alone." My eyes were getting a little glossy.
"What's wrong?" He pulled me towards him.
I pulled a gun from my boot and pointed it at him, "I said leave me alone, now back it up before I bust a cap in your behind!"
Everybody backed up as if they'd never had a gun pointed at them, "Now tell me where Sparky at!"
"He inside, he inside!"
They won't snitch to the cops, but they will to some girl with a gun? Wow. I walked inside and saw Sparky with some girl.
"You still mad at me?" I asked.
"Naw, I was never mad at you. I was just mad at Rodney."
"Oh, you weren't mad, but you're with another girl? That ain't right!"
"Heffa!" The girl yelled. "First of all-"
"Chill, Indi. This my baby Tai." Sparky smiled.
"Your baby?" She yelled.
"Not like that. I mean I treat her as if she's my daughter."
"So you have a son and daughter? I can do that, Sparky. I told you, I don't want no thug. Now you're coming out with this? How old are you really, Sparky? This girl look as if she's in her twenties!"
"Ew, no! Girl, you got me twisted. I'm not even eighteen. And he said he treats me like I'm his daughter, not that I am his daughter."
"Oh unh-unh! You about to get a beat down!"
He held her down. I don't know this girl and she's already trying to kill me! That's the exact reason why I don't mess with the chicks that Rodney and them mess with. I played with my gun.
"This trick got a gun!" Indi screamed while slapping at Sparky's arm, "Sparky, she wants to kill me!"
"Why do you have a gun, Tai?" Sparky asked.
"Some dude out there was messing with me."
"Who?"
"I don't know. It's all good though."
He nodded, "Where's that punk Rodney?"
"I think he's still outside. He just sent me in here."
"Why?"
"We got in an argument about me being complicated and stuff."
"Tell him to get in here."
I laughed, "I don't think so. I've already had to pull my gun out. I don't want to shoot somebody and have them after me." He chuckled and went out to get Rodney.
"So what's up with you? You Sparky new boo or something?"
"Yeah. I'm Indigo."
"How old are you?"
"Twenty-five. You?"
"Seventeen."
"Is Rodney your boo?"
"No. Actually, I don't know. He sends mixed signals. He acts like he wants me to be his girl and all that good stuff. Then, he does the exact opposite. I can't tell whether he wants me or if that's just the way he is."
"Does he act that way with other girls?"
"I don't know. I don't see him with other girls that much."
"Have y'all ever had sex?"
My head hung low. To be honest, me and Rodney have. It was an 'in the moment' thing. It just happened! We were at his house and I kept poking and tickling him and stuff. He kept telling me to chill before I did something I didn't want to do. I could tell he was enjoying it though because he was laughing with me.
Finally, he tackled me to the bed and looked me deep in the eyes. I thought he wasn't going to do anything since he usually just says 'stop' and continues with whatever he was doing. But this time was different. He wasn't just going to tell me to stop, he was going to make me.
Still, for some reason, I thought he wasn't going to do anything serious. I mean, I was playing with him so figured he was going to play with me. I was right of course. But not the way I thought I was.
I remember it so clearly. I remember him. Everything about him. It was great! Better than Darrius. I didn't want him to stop. When we finally did, I was wore out. Both of us were. We fell right asleep. My head on his chest, his arms wrapped tightly around my waist. But then, the next day, it was as if it had never even happened. I couldn't understand it. No "Morning, ma," no kiss. Nothing. Like he didn't want to be bothered with me.
I was pulled out of thought and noticed I was staring dead at Rodney. How long exactly have I been staring at him? Has it been long enough for him to notice. I really hope he isn't thinking of what I'm thinking of.
"Like what you see?" He chuckled.
I nodded, not fully understanding what was going on. Great! Now I have to think of something smart to say, "Do you like what you see?" I asked.
"I don't know yet. Why don't you stand up and model for me." I shook my head, grinning.
"Sparky, man. Why you ain't tell me about your new girl?"
"Why you ain't tell me about yours." He pointed at me.
"Who said she was my girl?" He looked at Sparky confused.
I looked at Indi and walked outside. It was only a couple of dudes here. I guess I ran them away or Sparky made them leave.Rodney is so ugh! He says this and does that. Makes me think this and feel that. Then does the complete opposite! And he wants to call me complicated!
Rodney came outside laughing, "What? You thought you were my girl?"
"Nah." I said leaning on his car. "You said yourself that you weren't trying to make me your girl."
We got in his car and headed back to his place, "So you're not mad in any way?" He asked as we walked inside.
"Oh yeah. I'm mad. I'm mad at a lot of things. Like Candy telling Darrius about what I do, Kareem calling me twenty-four/seven, but what happened earlier? Not at all."
He just smiled and started tugging at my belt loop to bring me closer. He played with the button on my jeans, "This is what I want." He said in a low tone. I bit my lip, "I bet you do." He kissed me and I kissed back, "You are my girl."
"Then why do you act so confused when people ask?"
"I don't."
"Yes you do! Just like earlier-"
"I thought you said you weren't mad." He smirked.
"Shut up!"
"Make me."
I rolled my eyes, "Wait, so you did like what you saw!" I said.
"I've been liking it since I saw it sashay it's sexiness around the diner."
"Don't turn fake on me."
"How could I do that?"
"You do it all the time. You act like this, then you change it up." My voice was more sad than mad.
"I can't help it." He shrugged. "You're young. I don't usually hang with young girls like this."
"Whatever." I muttered. "I don't care for your excuses."
"My excuses?"
"Yes, your excuses. That's all they ever are. I don't care about you not hanging with young girls! What's the difference?" I yelled.
"The fact that I can go to jail for statutory rape." His eyes turned cold. "I'm twenty-one an you're seventeen. You're still a minor. But I guess you don't care since it's just an excuse to you."
"Rodney, I-"
He sucked his teeth, "Just go. I'm not even in the mood for you anymore."
I walked out and called Magic. I would've called Sparky, but he would just go on a rant about how Rodney needs to stop getting mad at me and all that extra he does.
