-Later That Night

"You enjoyed that, didn't you?"

I smiled as he kissed my neck. He shifted me in his arms to face him. He kissed my lips. There was a loud banging on the door. He sucked his teeth and gathered his clothes. He walked out to the living room and opened the front door.

"What do you want?" He asked quietly.

"Where's the girl at, Rodney?"

"Man, what girl?"

"You know what girl I'm talking about! That girl that was trying to get with you at the party. I'm not stupid, Rodney. I know she's here."

"Girl, leave with all that bull."

"Rodney, I want to know where she's at! I'm going to set that chick straight!"

By the time she said that, I had my clothes on and was prepared to throw some hands.

"Well, well, well. Look at this."

I looked at the girl. She had her lips pursed and kept sizing me, "Your eyes look like balls with the way they're bouncing." I smiled.

"You're one to talk. We all know you've been bouncing all night."

"Get out of my house."  Rodney said annoyed.

"Gladly." I said.

"No, Tai. I didn't mean you."

He reached for me, but I dodged him. I'm not really mad at him. More so at the girl. She just came at midnight looking for me as if it wasn't bothering anybody. People are trying to sleep and have peace, but she just feels like she can walk in someone's home causing a ruckus!

-1 Month Later

"Bye!" I called to Chance.

Me and him have been getting closer and closer as the days go by. Walking to my apartment building, I saw the one person I had recently detached myself from.

He was leaning on his yellow Lamborghini that looked as if it had just been washed. I kept my eyes looking straight ahead as I walked.

"You're just going to act like I ain't standing here?"

I can't stand him! I don't even know why I'm attracted to him! He's ugly, cocky, annoying, stupid, and so is his car!

Actually, I kind of take that back. He actually looks mighty sexy right now. And though he's cocky, I think I kind of like that about him. just a little though.

"The same way you act like I don't mean anything to you?" I had my hand on my hip. He had a nonchalant demeanor and I started to get heated.

"Ma, I'm sorry. I ain't mean for you to feel like that. But you already know girls try to get at me. To me, you mean something more. But to them, you're just another chick off the streets." His facial expression never changed.

Is he trying to apologize? My mind told me to move, but my feet wouldn't budge. The silence was interrupted by the ringing in his pocket.

"What's up?" He opened the car door, "Is that what I told you to do? Man, I'll be there in a minute." He looked at me. I was digging in my purse, "You coming or what?"

"Who, me?" I pointed to myself.

He sucked his teeth, "Yeah you!"

"Who do you think you're yelling at? That's why you're a punk now." I sort of mumbled that last part. I got in the car and he drove us back to that old store.

"Stay here."

"If you wanted me to stay here, I could've just stayed in my aparment."

"Don't even start with me, Taiah." He warned.

He went inside and stayed there for what seemed like forever! He eventually came out with that dude I first saw him with. Locks.

"What do you want me to do with him?"

"Take him to the dock."

"A'ight." He looked at me, "What's up with you and her? Y'all must be pretty close for you to bring her here."

"Yeah. Real close." Rodney said blowing out smoke.

"Y'all smashed?"

"Why you worried bout my business?"

"I just want to know."

"It's none of your concern."

"She's celibate, ain't she?"

"Yeah." He rolled his eyes and came to the car. "Don't forget what I said!"

"I got you."

He closed the door and we sat in the driveway for a couple moments, "Man." He sighed, rubbing his face.

"What?"

"Nothing."

He started the car and we were on our way, "So I'm celibate now?"

"Huh? Yeah, sure." He murmured.

He kept his eyes on the road. Every now and then, he'd take a glance at girls walking on the sidewalk.

"Rodney."

"Yeah?"

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, mhm."

We came to a stop light, "Rodney, look at me." I turned him to face me. His eyes were bloodshot red, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine"

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah bae, I'm good." He pecked my lips, "Stop worrying about me."

Earlier, he was acting careless, yet remorseful. Now, he's acting out of it. I think he's high.

"Are you high?"

"What? Naw."

He leaned forward and turned the music up, "You hungry? I'm hungry. Man, I got the munchies." He rubbed his stomach.

I looked at him strangely, then back at the road, "Are you sure you're not high?"

"Yeah, I'm sure."

"So you didn't do any kind of drugs? No shrooms, salvia, dragonfly, nothing?"

"No, Tai. I'm not high." He said sternly.

I looked at him one more time before looking for my phone. I was just about to put in my password when something told me to look at the road.

"Rodney!"

I grabbed the wheel, jerking to the right, "Rodney, stop the car!"

"Girl, chill."

"No, Rodney! Stop the dang car!"

He pulled over to the side of the road and I got out. I walked to his side and opened the door, "Get out." I said folding my arms.

"Why?"

"Get out!" I yelled.

He sucked his teeth and got out. He walked to the passenger side and we both got in.

"You're high." I said.

"No I'm not."

"Yes you are! What'd you do in there?"

"Nothing. Just smoked and talked business."

I rolled my eyes, "You must've been smoking a lot."

He laid back in his seat. I turned the music down and rolled up the windows. I turned the air on and just rode around. I want him to calm down a little before I take him anywhere.

"We're still not there?" Rodney asked, finally waking up.

"Where?"

"Home."

"Your house?"

"Our house."

I didn't say anything. If I would've told him I don't live with him, it probably would've started an argument.

"No, we're not there yet."

"You still don't want to live with me?"

I looked down at him. It was a completely innocent question. He really wanted me to live with him, despite the issues that come with it.

"I'll be back." I said. "Don't do anything stupid."

All he did was suck his teeth and face the other way. I walked inside the gas station and got chips, sodas, and a Big Mama pickled sausage. I paid for it and walked back to the car.

"Thanks, ma." Rodney said after I wouldn't give him his chips and soda.

I was about to eat the sausage until Rodney started to snicker.

"You're disgusting!" I said laughing.

"I'm sorry. Gone head and eat it."

"No! I don't even want it anymore!"

"No, for real!" He laughed. "I won't look, I promise." I smiled when he turned away. He can be such a kid at times.

"I'm done." I dropped the wrapper out the window.

"You ate it pretty fast." He smiled.

"Don't even start with me." It's so hard for me to keep a straight face right now!

"Not my fault you like to deep throat stuff."

"You know what?"

"What?"

"Go back to sleep."

"Why?"

"Cause I said so."

"Man, whatever."
