Chapter 7
***
2 weeks later
I stretched my arms out as I soaked up the late morning sun. Summer here is a lot nicer than NYC. Dad and his wife whose name I have discovered is Ella have still not grown any closer to us. Every time dad tries a few hours later we will have an argument with her and we will just go back to hating them all. Life was hard. I just wished that he was a faithful kind man so I could accept living here and get on with my life.
I threw my legs over the bed and walked into the on suite. I took a shower and got ready for the day, putting some shorts and a shirt on, doing my hair and applying some makeup.
I left my bedroom feeling proud of how independent I have been all this time. I walked down the two flights of stairs. Dad and Ella were seated in the lounge drinking their coffee. They payed no attention to me as I walked through into the kitchen.
"Hey." Luke spoke quietly trying to keep the conversation between us three.
"Morning, what are you guys doing today?" I asked them as I started biting down on an apple as I spoke to them.
"We're going to check out the school we will be going to." Levi said as he took another spoon of his oatmeal.
My heart sank. Life was hard enough being here but having to go to a new school, make new friends and probably be bullied. The thoughts killed me. I was terrible at making friends and trusting people. But I guess I would be better to get to know the school before being trampled trying to find classes with hundreds of kids there.
"You wanna come Leah?" Luke asked. I smiled best I could before replying,
"Sure, how far away is it, do we have to drive." I said uneasy about asking dad for a ride. Luke and Levi both have their licences and I can start my learners when I choose too it's all just been a bit hectic lately.
"It's only like a 10-15 minute walk from here." Levi replied. I nodded, I was surprised I hadn't noticed it yet. I had taken many long walks around here in my spare time as I have no hobbies or friends.
I finished my apple and took a drink of orange juice before going back upstairs to grab some things. I grabbed some maroon converse, my phone, wallet and keys before leaving the house with my brothers.

As we arrived at the school I took a long good look at where I would be finishing school, if I choose to finish.
As a kid I always wanted to be a nurse but now thinking about it I could never hold the responsibility of someone's well being.
Now I have no idea what I want to be, But I will have to think quickly a I will have to pick my subjects according to what I want to do later in life.
Luke and Levi entered the large school and I followed. There was a large sign next to the school which had school notices on it and at the moment it read:
~
Cameron High School:
Open for all new and old students to look around and find classrooms.

Dad has enrolled us but we won't get our time tables and other school stuff until the first day back which is creeping up on me. I still had to buy some new clothes, school books and other equipment.
Since arriving in California I have landed my self a part time job in a clothing store. I work from 1-5 on weekends and school breaks and when school starts I will be doing shifts after school from 3-6. It doesn't pay loads but it's enough for me to get myself some things I want. At the moment the time was 11 so we would spend an hour and a bit here looking around and then I would go to work.
