Chapter 4

Once I told the police all about that terrible car crash I was in they asked the one question I forgot all about,

"Leah-Rose have you and your brothers thought about where you will be living?" Asked the tall brown-headed police man,

"No we haven't really talked about it" I said whimpering

"Leah-Rose have you and your brothers considered living with your father in California" the police officers looked at me as I burst into tears,

"I haven't seen my father since I was 7 he cheated on my mother I can't live with him, I hate him!" I was trying to push out the words well balling my eyes out,

"I'm sorry to hear that Leah-Rose but we have to think of all your opinions, sifts will be visiting you and your brothers tomorrow"

"Where are my brothers" I asked weeping,

"They are staying in a hotel at the moment until you have recovered"

"Okay thank you" I said still teary eye.

After the police left the doctor came and checked my stats, wrote some things down on a clip board and then sat down next to me,

"Leah-Rose your injures are healing well and you will be able to go home in about 2 weeks." With that he left the room and shut the door.

There was a silence, I didn't like it I just wanted some one with me, I wanted my mum but she couldn't be here. I burst into to tears and put my hands over my face,

"why her why not me?" I screamed out and cried even more, at that stage Levi and Luke came in and hugged me tight, I didn't feel so alone any more.

"Why are you dressed so fancy " I asked still a little teary?

"Today is um mum's funeral" Levi's eyes started to water.

"I want to come, I need to"

"Leah you can't you know you won't be able to leave the hospital, they won't let you"

" I HAVE TO GO" I screeched at them, starting to cry again

"Leah think about this, you can't even walk, Leah we know you love her but we need to be practical"

"I-I jus-t wa-nt t-o se-e he-r go" I stuttered trying to hold in the tears.

"Leah she loves you and always will, nothing will ever change that".

"I know" I said bursting into tears

"Now go, tell her I love her so much"

As soon as they left I burst back into tears then tried to fall back to sleep, I closed my eyes and drifted off.

*next morning*

I woke to a knock at my door it was sifts and she had my brothers with her, a nice looking lady with plump brown hair , she had a few freckles on her face and dark brown eyes.

"Hello my name is Laura I'm from sifts I'm here to talk with you about your living options after you leave the hospital" she pulled a chair over and starting talking to me and my brothers about our options my brothers held each of my hands and squeezed tight,

"Levi, Luke and Leah-Rose we have contacted your father, and he has offered his home to you, at this stage you have no other family we know of and it seems to be your only option"

I felt myself start to cry, tears running down my face .

"Okay" Levi was first to reply

I gasped at the word.

"What?" I was shocked.

"Leah we have no one else we need somewhere to live?" He was talking very strongly no.

"I know I just don't know if I can" I was weeping again

"When will we be moving?" It was the first time Luke had spoken in this whole conversation.

"As soon as Leah-Rose is healthy enough to travel" Laura seemed a little bit nervous.

"Alright" I was so terrified to see my father after 9 years.

*1 week later*

I woke up at 8:00am I can never sleep well at the hospital and especially after Laura came to visit, I can hear the doctors and people it's so noisy.

I only have 4 more days until I am released and I am so scared to go live with my dad, all these feelings were flowing back from when m-um and dad got a divorce, I didn't realise I was crying, until I felt a tear hit my soft lips.

I heard my phone receive a text so I checked to see I had a message

From Kelly:

Hey Leah, I really hope your feeling better. I'm so sorry to hear about your mum! Tomorrow me and the girls are coming to see you:) we all love you and miss you xoxox

To Kelly:

Thanks kel I really miss you guys too! I'm feeling a bit better. I can't stop crying about mum, I just wish it was me not her!

I love you guys too!! See you tomorrow xoxoxo

From Kelly:

It will be okay Leah, everyone is here for you! Call me of you need anything! See you tomorrow! Xoxoxo

I couldn't control my tears they just wouldn't stop.

The next day Kelly, Taylor and Chloe arrive In my room I was so happy to see them and they all came and gave me a hug.

"Ahh I missed you guys so much!" I was so excited to see them! I was trying to forget how depressed I was.

"We missed you so much!" Taylor was jumping up and down!

"We can't wait your better so we can get back on track with our summer" Chloe was smiling.

Her last sentence brought me back to my horrible life as I thought of how I was going to tell my three best friends I was moving all the way to Southern California. They all looked so happy.

"Uh guys," I started as tears welled in my eyes.

"Aww, Le what is it?" Chloe said as she lent down.

"M-me, Luke and Levi, we, we uh um."

"Come on Leah spit it out." Kelly said.

"We have to move in with dad, in Southern California. Ill, ill never get to see you guys." I spoke as I burst into tears. We all hugged until every tear in each of our bodies was soaked into our shirts.

"Don't worry Leah," Taylor started, "We will come visit you every chance we get and we will write letters and it will be like you never left." She said while forcing her self to smile. I knew how sad she was.

"Thanks tay, I'm going to miss you guys so much!" I said as more tears escaped.

We all came in for more hugs and talked for hours. I couldn't believe I was having to leave my best friends for my stupid dad who probably doesn't give a shit about me or my family.

*last day in hospital*

The doctor came in with the nurse, the doctor checked me over then then the nurse took out the needles in my arm and helped me move around in my wheel chair my leg and arm were both still very sore but I just wanted to leave the hospital.

My brothers came in and wheeled me to the hospital lobby. First we were going home to pack all our stuff. And then it was a 5 hour flight to the place I hate most in the world.

Southern California.
