"Miss you forgot your purse," Solomon's secretary informs Twinkle over the phone. She closes her eyes and lets out a sigh. This day is just not ending.
"I will have my assistant Sally fetch it for me. Thanks for letting me know," she tells her and ends the call.
She ponders over the points she has been going through for the past one hour about her future. She can ask her big brother Barry to help her out. He was after all doing pretty well making new chips for telecommunication gadget company 'Sial', in San Diego, California.
But will that be right thing to do. He had offer to help her in the past and she had always declined wanting to as self made as he is.
"No, I can't go to him..It's just not right," she talk to herself and jumps when she sees the devil she has been just thinking about.
"Hi there sis...what has happened now? Got dumped or got duped by another find? Let me guess it's both this time," Barry winks and opens his arms for her to go over and hug him and she does.
"God Barry, you should have been my twin. Appearing always when I need you the most," she whispers to his chest.
He laughs in his usual hearty manner, "Yeah, I could have been that. But I actually thought to be labelled more as your Fairy God Brother."
This makes them both laugh making Sally smiles to herself. She had made a call to Barry knowing he is in town for some work related meeting. He came pretty soon once he heard how things have ended with Stanley.
"Come on. Let's go for lunch. I am sure you forgot to have yours. But I really need food to survive," his stomach gives a loud rumble.
Twinkle laughs out loud and feels much better than she had since last evening.
"Okay brother bear let's go before thunder follows that rumbling of yours," she looks for her purse and realizes that she yet needs to Sally to bring it for her. She was unwilling to step into Solomon's office for the second time.
"Sally I left my purse at Hendersons. Please do bring it over for me. I will be back post lunch and thanks for calling him," she tells Sally warmly ignoring the confused look. She is sure never in her wild imagination she would have thought that Twinkle's purse would be left there.
"Sure. Enjoy and don't worry," Sally says assuringly.
----
"Are you sure you don't need my help? I really can. You should not sell your home sis," Barry pleas with her for the tenth time during their meal.
Twinkle had shared with him about everything that had gone wrong with her life including Henderson owning her office space. Barry had fumed for her but then focused more on what lies ahead. Being her big brother he always watched out for her. He felt guilty for not being there for her. He is glad he picked up Sally's call when he did.
She shakes her head at him once again.
"Barry I need to do it by myself. I should have been more careful and followed your advice and if I had a sound lawyer that made sound contracts with my finds I would not be in this mess," she thinks over their past conversations and how many times Barry had told her not be naïve and be as professional as the other companies.
"Let bygones be bygones Winky," he teases her.
"Don't call me that. I didn't wink that much when I was little," she pouts at him though she knew he has tagged her with a perfect nickname as her left eye always twitched a lot when she was extremely nervous about something or had told a lie.
