You have to live everyday as if it's your last. That's why I cherished every single second that I could be with Luke and the boys. Even when they annoy the crap out of me.
"I just woke up, yeah? I'm not dressed for the fucking ball," I groan, running a hand through my hair as Michael giggles.
"That's too big for you," he points out as he shoves a piece of pancake in his mouth.
"Of course it is. It's Luke's shirt," I reply, grabbing an apple from the counter before washing it.
"Where is he, anyway?" he asks, pouring some more maple syrup onto his nearly empty plate.
"Still sleeping," I tell him, sitting down across from him and taking a bite of my apple. "What are you doing here, anyway? Snuck in to steal food?" The boys have been staying at a hotel for a few days, although Luke stayed with me last night.
"I came here late last night because Ash was complaining about some shit, and I couldn't sleep."
"You casually made pancakes?"
"They were in the freezer. I just heated them up," he replies, and I try not to laugh.
"You do realize how ridiculous this is, don't you?"
"Of course I do," he snorts. "I don't have nearly enough maple syrup." He pours some more onto the last of his pancakes, and I burst into laughter. He chuckles, and I shake my head.
"Morning babe," Luke yawns as he walks into the room.
"Morning," Michael responds as I look toward Luke. He's in his shirt and boxers, his hair a mess.
"I think he was talking to me?" I chuckle as Luke comes over to me and kisses my cheek.
"Awe." Michael feigns disappointment, and I watch Luke as he digs around in the freezer. He doesn't find what he's looking for and glances at Michael and the empty plate in front of him.
"So much for quick pancakes," he mutters, closing the freezer and going over to one of the cupboards. He starts preparing things to actually make pancakes, and I take another bite of my apple. "You want some?"
"Yeah," Michael and I say at the same time, making Luke shake his head and chuckle.
"You already had some," I point out, looking back to Michael.
"Only two," he responds, grinning cheekily.
"Fair enough," I reply, rolling my eyes playfully.
"What do you want to do today?" Luke asks as he grabs some milk from the fridge.
"After school, you mean," I respond, and he makes a confirming noise. "Anything would be okay."
"How about we go watch a movie?"
I shrug. "Why not?"
