"Jefferson, Grace, I'm home!" you call out as you open the door to your little house in the Enchanted Forrest.

Your daughter runs up to you and jumps into your arms. You kiss her forehead. "Hey there sweetie!"

Looking up, you see your husband Jefferson leaning against the wall smiling at you. You let Grace down and walk over to him.

"Hey handsome." you grin, leaning in to give him a kiss.

"Hey beautiful." he replies, meeting your lips with his.

You smile when you two pull apart. "I missed you."

"Not as much as I have missed you, my dear Y/N."

That was how life was in the Enchanted Forrest until Jefferson got stuck in Wonderland after you were taken by the Queen, leaving Grace and your husband to think you were dead. When the curse came, you were a teacher, and your star student was none other than Grace, or Paige as she was called in Storybrooke. And strange things have started happening since Emma Swan came into town.

You quickly left the school building, eager to get home to grade, so when you weren't paying attention, you accidentally bumped into somebody.

"Oh my gosh, I am so sorry!" you exclaimed as you bent to pick up your packet.

"Oh," the man said, "it's no big deal." He met your eyes and his eyes widened. His face went white. "Y/N?"

Your eyebrows furrowed. "Do..do I know you?"

The man shook his head. "Uh, no. Sorry, I've just, ah, seen you around before."

"Oh. Well, I'm sorry for running into you." You smiled.

He held out a hand to help you up. "Don't be. I'm Jefferson, by the way."

You nodded. "Well, I'm Y/N, but you already knew that."

"Yeah," he laughed. "I did."

"Well Jefferson," you said once you were on your feet, "I guess I'll see you around-"

All of a sudden, you both were flung back as if there was...magic. Jefferson caught you as you fell back. You blinked fast as you stood back up.

"What was that?" You murmured as you turned around.

Your eyes met Jefferson's and you gasped. "J-Jefferson?"

"You- you remember?" he whispered, eyes wide.

Slowly, you nodded, blinking back tears. "I-I missed you so much!"

He pulled you in close into his warm embrace and tir feet lifted up off of the pavement as he spun you around. You rested your head in the crook of his neck. "I thought you dead, Y/N," Jefferson said as he put you down. His voice was thick with tears, and when you met his gaze, you saw that his eyes were red.

"I'm not dead, I'm right here." You whispered, wrapping your arms around his neck. He hugged you tightly. "And I'm not going anywhere."

"Do you know how many times I would see you around town and know that you wouldn't remember me? Know that you'd look right through me? Too many to count. And then...I'd see you with Grace and know that you both are mother and daughter, but you don't know it." Jefferson murmured into your ear.

Tears fell from your eyes. You touched his face and saw him swallow hard. "I'm so so sorry."

You leaned up and pressed your lips on his. As he kissed back, one of his hands found it self in your hair, and the other held you to him. He kissed you like you were oxygen and he was dying to breathe.

When you both pulled away, he touched his forehead to yours. "What are we going to do about Grace?" You asked.

"She probably hates me." Jefferson sighed.

"Why would she ever hate you?" you asked.

When Jefferson finished telling the storybook how he sent her to the neighbors and then he got stuck in Wonderland, you both were crying.

"Hey, hey, hey. She'll forgive you. She'll understand. You did everything you could to get back to her." you held your husband's gaze.

"A-are you sure?" he asked.

"Positive." you replied with a small smile.

After much convincing, Jefferson managed to call out a single word after school was dismissed. "Grace?"

His eyes were hopeful, as were yours. His eyes were also red, and his hands shook, as he was nervous. You laced your fingers through his and squeezed gently.

Your brunette daughter turned around. "Papa! Mama!"

"Grace," you said, holding back the tears threatening to fall. You smiled as she ran towards you both. Jefferson picked her up and pulled you in for a huge happy family embrace.

"I knew you'd come back for me!" Grace laughed. She looked you in the eyes.

"Hey sweetie." you managed to choke out.

She grinned. "I knew you weren't gone. I knew I'd see you again."

You all smiled. "Can we go home?" Grace asked.

Jefferson nodded. You laughed through your tears. "Yes. Let's go home."
