Chapter 33: Say what?!

"I gotta go to the bathroom. Be right back." Liam says standing up, and leaving the room. The room falls silent, and all you can here is the monitor beeping with the beat of my heart. I shift under the hospital sheets, trying to get somewhat comfortable.

"Lanna?" I here Zayn ask. I turn towards him and I realize that he is closer now.

"'Sup?" I respond, not really paying attention to him.

"Do you hate me?" I hear him ask, and I look at him with disbelief.

"Why would I hate you?" I ask, muting the TV so I can hear Zayn.

"Because I caused you to leave..." He mumbles, and my eyes go wide.

"Zayn you didn't cause me to-"

"Yes, I did." He interrupts me, looking me in the eyes. "You left because of what I did. Everyone else agrees with it. I agree with it. It's true."

"Zayn, don't think like that-"

"But it's true!" He interrupts me again. "I'm the reason that you left. It wasn't so much of Liam, was it? Tell me the truth." He asserts, and I can see his jaw tightening. There are moments of silence between us, and I can tell that he is getting annoyed. "Tell me." He pleads, and I'm not so sure. He kinda was the reason that I left, but it was also other things. Like I had to get back to work-well lets be honest here I didn't miss that stinky fish shop that much.

"Zayn-"

"Just tell me!" He interrupts once more.

"Well if you would let me talk I would!" I shout, and he nods. I breathe out a sigh of relief, before I start. "Okay well you were kinda the main reason that I left."

"I knew it...." He mumbles, placing his face in his hands. It is silent again, until he looks up at me, and I see tears rimming his eyes.

"How much did I hurt you?" He asks shakily, his brown eyes sad. Just seeing him in this state would make anyone want to cry.

"Zayn stop you're beating yourself up over this-"

"Tell me!" He whispers, and I look at him in disbelief. "I need to know. It has been eating me from the inside out, knowing that I hurt you somehow. I never wanted to hurt you. I told myself that I wouldn't dare to even hurt you, and look what happened. You left us. You left me. I still have so many feelings for you, Lanna. You have no idea. When I was with you I felt so, happy. And when Perrie came, she got me out of the house and got me drunk. When I came back in the morning, I saw my closest friends torn apart. Literally torn. When I read the note for myself, I felt like crap. I felt like a total arse, and I knew that I was the reason that you left. The last time I saw you was when you walked upstairs. I saw you, and you were broken. And I broke you. Do you know what it feels like to see the girl who you love walk away, broken, and then leave? It feels terrible..." He rants, and I am left shocked.

He, he loved me?

"Well say something." He pleads, and he has tears in his eyes. I look at him, still shocked. His jaw tightens once again, before he lets his head hang In his hands. I look away from him and stare at the blank wall. He loved me? Like actually loved me?

"You-you loved me?" I ask, barely audible, and turn towards him. He looks up at me, tears streaming down his face.

"I'm sorry what did you say?" He asks, clearly he didn't hear it.

"You loved me?" I say louder now, shock written on my face. He cracks a smile at me, and puts his head in his hands again, but then to look back up at me.

"Yeah." He half laughs. "And I still do."

"Zayn I-"

"Hey guys what did I miss?" Liam asks walking into the room, and Zayn has eagerness in his eyes to find out what I was going to say.

"Oh, nothing really." I say, looking at Liam. "Just talking about which superhero is the best. That's all."

"Yep. Nothing's changed." Liam laughs. He un-mutes the TV and we continue to watch more Sherlock. I keep looking at Zayn and he does the same. I guess he will have to wait to find out what I was going to tell him.

HELLLOOOOOOOOOOOOO MAH DARLINGS!!!!!! Sorry it's short and all but ZAYN SAID THATHE LOVED HER LIKE WHAT?! AHHHHHH!
