30 minutes later, Phil was just about to finally get some sleep when Tony woke up screaming. By the time Agent Coulson got there, he had stopped screaming and was now quietly crying. "What's the matter?" Tony looked up at Phil, tears freely flowing from his big brown eyes.
"I had a scary dream," he said, sniffling. "Do you want to tell me about it?" Tony wiped his eyes and nodded. "I was falling, and there was a big explosion over me, and I fell, and I couldn't stop, and then the sky was closing, and, and," he sobbed again, obviously terrified.
Phil remembered reports of Tony carrying the bomb into the portal and almost not making it back, and before the age-incident, Tony had started having anxiety attacks. This was a very real dream to the 3-year-old, mostly because it'd happened.
"You're okay, Tony. You're safe," he said, sad about the poor toddler being affected by things grown men could hardly handle. Tony wiped his eyes again, and Coulson tucked him back into the blanket on the couch. Stark tried to get some more rest.
