Chapter 5

We walked onto the ground. Hard yet wet. We heard wild calls. "El el el el el el el el el!" "I don't like this not one bit!" Elenzie said. Ashena looked up and saw a colorful man eating an alive rat. "Ew!" We said in unison. A man jumped infront of us, "You new. Who you?" "Um, I'm Monica. That's Renessa, Lunessa, Elenzie, Ashena, Lyla, and Nathenzee. Who are you?" I answered. "Lunessa?" He said back. We all looked at Lunessa. Why did he say her name. Sure it's interesting but so were the rest. I mean her twins name Renessa is pretty interesting. Lunessa looked confused. "Do I know you?" She asked. He responded, "Karissa speak 'bout you. She hate you. I love Karissa. I hate you. I k--" She cut him off, "Oh my God! Karissa talked about me to you. I hate her!" His face turned mad. "You cut me off. You mean. Karissa nice. We kill you." "Wait, wait. Why do we have to kill and who's we?" I questioned. He did his call, and we heard more. A bunch of tribe people came swinging towards us and landed on the ground. They were all so colorful. They did a dance and looked at Lunessa with a scary look. Then they attacked and went towards us. We started running away. They got people swinging through trees and people throwing spears at us. "What did you do to Karissa!?" Yelled Renessa. Lunessa yelling back, "That back stabbing little bitch deserved everything little rude thing I've said and done to her!" "You know I hated how bossy and controlling and mean you were not only to others but to me!" Renessa screamed. Lunessa screamed back, "It's not my fault that everyone is annoying including you!" "You know I understand where Renessa is coming from!" Nathenzee said budding her head around their conversation. "Shut up Nathenzee no one asked you!" Lunessa said rudely. I looked at Renessa and she looked like she was about to blow up. Instead of going straight she ran right into Lunessa like a bull. She started punching her from every direction possible. The rest of us tried to pry them off eachother. "This is not the time to be fighting! Some type of Amazonian* people are literally hunting us down!" I said in a strict voice. "Um... actually they're hunting down Lunessa." Lyla said. We were distracted by the twins fighting that we hadn't noticed that the warriors caught up. They grabbed us and stabbed Lunessa. They knocked us all out. I was shaken when I woke up. "Hey. Hey you awake yet?" A voice said. It was Ashena. We were tied up in a circle, but someone was missing. We saw Lunessa lying on the ground near the warriors not moving. She was dead. If things couldn't get any worse they were. They bit into her leg and chewed her up. We watched her become a meal for them. After they set us free and we all threw up but Renessa. "I'm sorry." I said to Renessa. "No worries. I bet she tasted bitter. You know I almost ate her in the womb. It was about time someone ate her. Ha!" She said. We got to the end of the Forest and didn't know what to do. "Do we just wait here?" Elenzie asked. Well her question was answered when a helicopter came and picked us up. My neclace got warm. "Hey are any of your neclaces changing temperature?" I asked. Nathenzee answered, "Mine is getting cold." After a couple of hours we landed and they opened the door. I stepped out and said, "Do smell that?" "Smell what?" They asked. "Safety."
