Journey To Love

Chapter 7

We were silent. "I'd like an answer ladies!" She said in a strict voice. I came up with something as fast as I could, "Um... we.. were..." "We were seeing the graduation date." Lyla finished. Her face expression didn't change. "Oh well why didn't you ask the front desk. And how did you find my office?" She said. I answered, "We didn't know that front desk lady knew and we know our ways around things." "Her name is Judith. The 'front desk lady's' name is Judith. Now if you don't mind I have work to do so go on and hop off and I'll let this slide. You're lucky I'm in a good mood" She said. We didn't say anything and we walked away. We turned to say bye and she shooed us off with her hand. The wall closed behind us. We ran back to my room and took out the files. "So there's secrets about our whole point of existence practically." Lyla said. "Well no not really, just what we mostly live for." I said. We opened up the files. One was labeled "The Journey" the other "The Names" and the last "How we Colonized".

The Journey

As a group the Council decided to have an equal journey of love as we do with our mind and heart. But when we saw the results of what our first trial was, all but one the Council decided it would be cancelled based on how dangerous it was. Instead they had the ideas of a shaped, temperature changing, neclace. All of a sudden a week after the decision all Council members were killed, but one, K.C. Conrad. She had the motive to do it and all fingers point at her. Ms. Conrad was not indicted because there was not enough evidence.

Lyla and I were in shock. Why would she do that I thought and who is this K.C. We went on to reading the rest.

The Names

After the Council got new members Meryl was announced head of the Council for having most experience. Her first act was to no longer have last names. Before installing this rule she changed her name to Meryl from K.C. She then said, "I changed my name not because I did a mass murder as some think. It is because I want to start a new slate with a new ruler, me." She said, "This is history and that no one is to know my original name." It sounded like a threat to others but ever since no one has spoken of her late name.

"So this rule was made so she didn't look supicious back then. If it was back then, then why is the rule still in?" I asked. "Well if the rule come out, so does her past including her name." Lyla answering my question.

How We Colonized

After new ruler Meryl, everything has changed for our society. We are not to know where we come for. The journey is back in schedule. You are assigned your job and lover. We have uniforms. If you are not normal (heterosexual), you will be killed. New classes are being put into schools. Every thing our society knows will be gone. Our new generations life's will be different than now.

Unknown Secrets

Meryl is an illegal ruler and a killer. She has changed our ways for her bettering. There is a way to no longer make her our ruler though. If you show these articles to the society and convince them that she is bad, the Council can vote her out. It has not happened before because she has hurt everyone that has gotten in her way. Meryl also takes illegal medicine to live longer so she can always rule, since she cancelled terms in ruling.

It was gone after that. If me and the rest of us can convince the Council that she's bad, then she's out. We ran to the front desk. "Hi can I get a room for a Renessa?" I asked. "I'm sorry but I cannot give out information like that." Judith answered back. "This is an important thing that can save our whole society and she's like my best friend." I responded. She gave me a look then gave me the number. "Room 234" I thanked her and ran off. When we got to the room we banged on the door. "WHAT?!" She screamed. We pushed her out of the way and sat on her bed. We showed her the files and how we had an idea to break in to Meryl's office and find her meds and show to Council who she really is. Renessa agreed and gave us equipment to do so.

It was 22 hours when we left. We got out of the room With Renessa holding the bag full of equipment. We went around the corner to the glider. We went down to first floor. We went to the girls bathroom and pulled hard on the towel. It locked the door and opened the wall. When I think about it, if the door was locked, how did Meryl get in? We searched everywhere and found a bag full of pills. We found more evidence that finished up the articles. We made a mess and took out the equipment and it cleaned everything up in a second. We went out of the bathroom on to the glider around the corner back into the room and changed our clothes. Me and Lyla went back to our rooms and fell asleep.
