Roger POV

I stood there drumming my fingers against the bench of the jewellers, he had stuffed the name up so many times i had lost count. Even when i did write it out on paper he still got it wrong, he really didn’t know what he was doing but the design of the necklace was pretty, so id pay for it a million times just for her.

He came out quiet please showing me the necklace, Kyrie it read on the outside of the heart and Love RMT  in cursive writing on the back of it. I opened it up to find two miniature drum sticks within one half of the locket and a personal message on the inside

The beat of your heart, is the beat of my drum

Sounds a bit corny, but i hope she likes it anyway. We haven’t even been out together and im spending all this money on her, i really do love her, and im practically a millionaire so it wont bother me.

“thats perfect”

I said, handing it back over to him.  he placed it a tiny diamond where the dot of the I should be, then carefully into  the box before he put it then into a blood red satin pouch, it was bloody like pass the parcel.

I thanked him and left the shop. It was about to storm, i could smell the rain coming, horrid smell it is, aggravating my nose, i better get there before she gets to her room, and this time tonight i won’t fall asleep, I’ll stay up all night if i have to, i was going to give this one personally to her myself if its the last thing i do.

I was coming through the revolving door, i caught a glimpse of her, her hair was a mess, her make up smeared and she ran straight past me, i continued walking and made my way back outside into the cold.

I saw her running off, her knotted hair trying to fly in the wind; she suddenly turned into an alley way, hiding herself into the darkness. I paced after her, trying not to get noticed by anyone, i found her sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall. Her knees covering her face and her hair draped around her.

I squatted down beside her, i could hear her crying, and i doubt she even knows im here, i don’t think she really cares either. I pulled out the bag and the box, opening it up and taking out the necklace and locket as quietly as i could, trying not to ruin the effect of the suprise.

I gingerly put it around her neck, trying not to make any contact with her skin to give me away, now the tricky part, clasping the hook onto the hoop, my stubby fingers were no good at this job but i tried and after great difficulty succeeded.

She stopped crying as i let go of the necklace, pulled her hair back to find me there infront of her. Her eyes puffy and makeup smeared around her eyes like a raccoon when i first saw her.

She quickly hid away back under her hair, not wanting me to see her in a state like this, must be very self conscious of her appearance. I grabbed out a handkerchief, one my mother embroidered with my initials and handed it to her.

“i cant, ill ruin it”

She spluttered in between sobs.

“don’t worry about it, i got plenty more”

I told her, she looked at it for a second before using it to clean her tears up and blow her nose. I sat down beside her and wrapped one of my arms around her.

“whats the matter?”

I asked her, she looked up at me, i stared into her beautiful vivid green eyes, they were a sight, beautiful, glistening, even filled with tears they were the prettiest things i have every seen.

“i...i...ive.. lost... my... apartment”

She managed to say, before howling with her crying, it was horrible to see her like this, upset and unable to control her emotions. How the hell did she manage to lose her apartment, she doesn’t seem to be one who doesn’t pay their rent.

“hey... baby its gonna be alright... im here, ill look after you... ill always be here for you.”

I told her bringing her closer to me, wrapping both my arms around her, making sure she knew i would never let her go. I let her get the crying out of her system, she stopped after about five minutes of full on crying, i grabbed the handkerchief and wiped the tears from under her eyes, she began to fiddle with the necklace.

I heard it click open, she stopped breathing, i looked down at her, her eyes wide as ever, looking into what the inside of the heart revealed, she closed it and saw behind it.

“i love you”

I told her, kissing the top of her head. Never had i actually snogged her, unless you count the time i was drunk, which i don’t, that was a complete accident... i was completely hung over.

She leant her head against my shoulder, just sitting there, not knowing how to comprehend with all that was happening around her, nor did i to be honest, i loved her more than anything, and nothing could change how i feel, no other girl in the world could be as beautiful as what she was.

“heyy, how bout i take you on that date?”

I asked her, her eyes beaming up at me. She was beautiful even like this, she smiled up at me and just hugged me, her actions mean a million words to me, i don’t care if she doesn’t talk for now, i wouldn’t blame her with all that’s just happened.

She nodded her head eagerly, then suddenly as quick as it came, that happiness disappeared, vanished from her face.

“but i look horrible”

She said. I looked at her, my mouth gaping open, my eyes fully open. How could she say that, smeared makeup is nothing on her, i actually find it quiet cute on her, she makes everything look stunning.

“don’t be absurd, you’re the most beautiful girl in the world, anyway, were just going to my apartment, nothing too fancy.”

I told her, she nodded. I picked her up cradling her as i got up then placed her lightly on her feet, trying to be very careful towards her, not wanting to hurt her or anything, i held my hand out for her, she looked at it, then at me before reluctantly taking it, pulling her closer to me we walked off to the apartment, luckily no one saw us, the street was deserted.
