Freddie POV-
‘ – Bohemian rhapsody if full drama passion and romance and sounds rather like one of those mini opera affairs that Pete Townshend used to tack on the end of Who albums before he really got down to it and wrote ‘tommy’ .
The highlight of the piece is, inevitably, the middle section (or should one refer to it as the second movement?) where queen, with a suitably baroque vocal orchestration, contrive to approximate the demented fury of the Balham amateur operatic society performing the pirates of Penzance. – ’
i switched the radio off, shutting it up and leaving us in silence as i drove, concentrating on the road more than anything, boy how i hated driving, too much responsibility, what if i hit someone, what would i do. Stop thinking like this, don’t be absurd, your not going to hit anyone, the least you can hit is a duck.... a duck, why would i hit a duck.
“shut the hell up, i don’t want some ass hole critic telling how to write my music”
I cursed at the radio, also indiscreetly at my mind, thinking up various situations that i didn’t need running through my head whilst driving, they were annoying the day lights out of me, anywhere we go, all you hear is people bad mouthing our new single, i swear once we have a new hit, ill be glad about it, and that everyone will forget bohemian rhapsody ever existed.
I pulled up at the set of traffic lights, they had just turned red, i pulled up behind the car infront with enough room inbetween the both of us, able to see the bottom of their tyres at the end of the hood of my rolls Royce. I looked over at tamarah, she was staring out the window, distracted by something, not realising i was looking at her.
“whats the matter dear?”
I asked, patting her leg closest to me with my free hand, , she shook her head, getting out of her trance and flexed her hand she had been leaning against. She began to shake it, trying to get feeling and blood flowing back into her fingers, but her expression was still blank.
“Huh, oh nothing”
She said, taking a hold of my hand, 1...2...3... green light, i lightly pressed my foot on the accelerator, and my other hand tightly clasped onto the steering wheel, concerntrating very hard on driving with one hand, multitasking at its best.
“you cant lie that easily to me love”
I said, snickering as i pulled up by the side of the road, we will have to do some walking, but it wont kill us, itll probably do us both good, getting out and smelling the fresh air, eugh, its horrible just thinking about it but you got to do what you have to.
I got out of the car, the streets were practically deserted, with a few passer bys, it was nothing compared to the mobs, especially that of the screaming adolescent girls that were constantly around every corner when the boys and i were touring or even out as just the four of us, going to the pub or something along those lines.
I shuffled over to her side of the car, opening the door and holding my hand out to her, offering my assistance if she needs it, which she did and pulled herself out of the car, before sighing deeply and leant against the car, hearing her sigh like that, could reduce me to tears, I hated seeing her like this, she looked exhausted, bags hanging under her eyes as if she hadn’t slept for days.
“Seriously what’s up”
I pleaded to her, shutting the car door, taking her hand and began to walk down the street. Swinging her arm back and forth, but her arm was limp, herself not caring what was happening to her arm as if having no feeling in it, something was up, she has been very emotional lately, i don’t know what it is, possibly stress but it wasn’t helping her cope mentally with everything going on around her.
