Sesshomaru had half his mind to give the man a piece of his thoughts. But Rin wouldn't want him beating the life out of the royal aide.
Rin isn't stupid to just throw herself at the enemy. And he knew well enough that Kohaku cared fo Rin, enough to rival his own, to just let her get snagged away.
He took pride at his wife's wits. She conjured up such a plan. But of course he hated the fact that she'd yet again endangered herself. When will she ever learn to let him protect her? His ego's been taking blows beyond repair, all thanks to that little minx.
But of course, punishments are in order. And he knew just how to spank that cute butt of hers.
.
The moment they reached the grounds of the holy ruins oracles came to them confiscating his swords and tended their horses. From here on they would have to walk the 200 steps up. The bastard, Sesshomaru cursed silently. Here, Koga was untouchable. The temple's elders abhors violence and killing. Even Sesshomaru was bound by those laws.
How many moon phases has it been since he last step foot here? But the place seemed to stay the same. He was the only one who aged. Even the oracles seemed to have eternal youth as their heads held the same faces he remembered.
Sesshomaru feels more himself now. His marks tingling all over his body. Especially the one at his forehead. After all, his mother's seal was always strongest here.
.
Koga stood at the foothold of the temple's threshold. Taking in the all too familiar deathly glare and stoic expression his forever rival, the lord of the west, is wearing.
Two figures slowly approached while oracles of the temple came to take their weapons away. Ah! The golden duo. As the quarter youkai and his attendant's figure came close to earshot, he commented. "You two should just get married already."
.
When the oracles of the temple announced his arrival, Rin had struggled not to run and open the giant entrance doors and flung them open and welcome him herself.
Of course she knew that once he learns of her predicament he'd come storming in to claim what's his. But she came short of her expectation for he was nothing close to being angry nor was he thrashing the place.
It was like seeing him for the first time. Only this time he ignored her. Shouldn't she be happy? That way her plan could go along smoothly. But a part of her longs for him to go ballistic the moment he sees another man holding her. God she missed the doting, possessive, over-protective, over-bearing husband that Sesshomaru is.
Rin stood at a corner behind the incorigible wolf clan's leader, Koga. She heard his jest concerning Jaken's undying loyalty to Sesshomaru.
Jaken turned green. Clearly, Koga's sarcasm wasn't welcomed. This only earned a smirk from the wolf. And as if taunting the quarter dog demon, Koga smugly turned his attention to his guest of honor.
"But I must ask, where's your wife?"
He really had to ask? Rin mused. She nervously stole a glance Sesshomaru's way. Waiting for his answer.
"She's indisposed." He answered none too gently, all the while looking at Rin. Returning her gaze intently. She felt ike squirming under his scrutinizing golden pools.
"Ah, the heat does get to you sometimes."
Koga drank the last of his cold drink; savoring the coolness it provided, soothing his parched throat. He motioned for the servants to hand the guests the drink then dismissed them.
"I hear your wife's feisty."
Suddenly the air around them felt heavy. You could cut through the unspoken tension with a knife. "Let me intoduce to you someone similar."
It was customary that the lady in waiting appears only when summoned by the bridegroom. "Come."
Rin stepped forward, her hand resting on Koga's. He used his left hand to lift her chin and dipped his head dangerously close to hers. "She too gave quite a fight."
.
On the contrary, she came here voluntarily.
