They had a problem. John Gilbert was attacked at the Lockwood's and Sheriff Forbes called Damon in for some help. Of course he came to rectify the situation and to anyone who looked at him he seemed like the calm, cool, and collected Damon he usually was; to anyone who knew him, you could tell he was on edge but it had nothing to do with the untrustworthy Gilbert. No, it was concern for the the broken girl laying in his bed. Alone. Because he was here when he should be there. With her.
With Evangeline.
Like a creep, he spent a half an hour watching her sleep. Damon was sure she was tired not just from their sexual encounter but from being emotionally drained. To him though, she looked just as beautiful when she cried as any other time. Hell, Evangeline could be wearing a plastic bag and she'd still look like the sun to him.
When returned, he wasn't expecting to find 2 guys, 1 girl, 3 dead bodies, and Evangeline dancing on the table and working on a 4th.
"Uh hey," Damon announced himself, surprised by what was taking place in front of him.
"Oh! Hey lover." she winked before dropping the body of the dead girl she just drained.
"You're -you're okay?" He questioned still unsure of what exactly was taking place in front of him.
"Of course I'm okay. Why wouldn't I be?" She raised an eyebrow before licking the salt off her hand and taking the shot of tequila.
"Well the last time I saw you- right before we..." his voice trailed off leaving her to fill the blank.
"I was so broken. Woo is me, blah blah blah." She waved him off while sauntering over to him, a drink for him in hand. "Yeah, I'm over that."Damon remained quiet, studying her and her actions. Why wax she acting this way. Usually Evie was calm cool and collected. Va it was almost as if - his heart dropped.
"You turned it off," his throat felt dry as he spoke the words, beginning to fill sick to his stomach.
"Exhilarating, isn't it?" She spoke excitement in her eyes. "I feel so....alive."
"You turned it off," his disbelief soon turned to rage as he charged at her, pushing her against the wall a crack forming up the wall behind her. "You fucking turned it off!"
"And you're just now noticing." Evangeline scoffed with a playful eye roll.
"What happened?! You were perfectly fine a few hours ago." The last part Damon mumbled to himself, his eyes searching for some type of emotion within hers hid hands placed on both sides of her face, caressing with his thumbsHe found none.
"Nothing happened. I'm fine." Evangeline rolled her eyes moving her head slightly but Damon held it in place.
"You turned off your fucking humanity Evie. You are not fine. Why would you go this to yourself? Huh?"Damon was so frustrated with her he wanted to shake her. How could she do this!
"I'm better this way, Damon." Her hands trailed up his chest as she leaned forward purring in his ear. "You thought so last night."
"No." he shook his head.
"Yes," she smirked.
"But last night-" the sarcastic laughter that flowed from her lips shut him up.
"I'm quite the actress aren't I?"She played him.
It was Katherine all over again."You didn't even noticed. Why should it matter if my emotions are on or not. We both want the same thing. You didn't mind last night." He pushed away from her turning slightly, refusing to meet her eye.
