Chapter 12

Hey! so rewriting didn't take as long as I thought it would so I'm gonna update now! So far I'm loving season three of gmw and I AM SO EXCITED FOR GM UPSTATE YOU HAVE NO IDEA. Seriously though, if you would've seen my reaction when I found out Shawn was going to be in that episode, you would've put me in and an asylum or something...         

IMPORTANT: I changed Thomas' name to Tyler and Daniel's name to Colin

Grace POV

            I. am. so. tired. I have so much going on right now. I have all this skating stuff, school, and I'm helping with the school musical. I would have auditioned, but I can't sing, so I'm on the sound crew and I'm helping decorate the set, which is where I'm headed right now. We're doing Seussical Jr. and Lauren is playing JoJo. Anyways, I'm at school and right now I have to decorate with fake flowers. I'm found a garland of flowers that I'm using to decorate but they're all orange so I grab a bunch of purple flowers and use those to give the area a little variation. Soon I run out of those color flowers and there's some empty space in that area so I decide to just rip some leaves off of another flower. I'm guess I'm not paying a lot of attention to what I'm doing because I'm talking to Lauren. I start to rip the leaf off and I feel a sharp pain in my thumb. I look down and at first glance it just looks like I scratched my thumb. I look closer and see that a piece of the wire from the flower has gone through my thumb. 

"Lauren.." I say hesitantly. She looks over at my hand and sees the wire. 

"Umm.. Come on, lets go find your mom." She says. I forgot to mention that because this is such a big musical they required us to have another teacher supervise,  so my mom volunteered. We walk into another room where we see my mom helping a kid with something. 

"Mom, there's a wire in my thumb" I say. She looks over and gives me a 'how the heck did that happen' look, so I explain the story. She looks at it and decides that we should probably go to the emergency room, but she has to go file an incident report or something first. Stupid school. I sit down with Lauren and soon I start to feel dizzy. It really wasn't bleeding that much but I think the fact that there was a wire in my thumb kinda messed with my head.

"Lauren I think I'm going to pass out" I say. Apparently I was out for about ten seconds and now Laurens freaking out. Soon my mom comes back and we go to the emergency room. My mom calls my dad and explains the situation. Lauren also explains the situation to Colin and Tyler in our group chat and the four of us agree to meet at my house when I get home. We get to the emergency room and we have to sit and wait for about 20 minutes, which doesn't make much sense, if you go to the emergency room shouldn't they help you right away?  Anyway for some reason the ER is very busy on a Tuesday afternoon so I don't even go into a room, they wheeled a bed out into the hallway.  We sit and wait there for another 20 minutes, and then finally a nurse comes and does all the nurse stuff, you know blood pressure, pulse, etc. After the nurse leaves I put my thumb in ice to numb it. After another 20 minutes a doctor comes and gives me an option; he can either yank the wire out right now or put two shots of lidocaine (an anesthetic) in my thumb and then yank it out. I end up choosing the former because I can't handle needles. The removal of the wire hurt more than anything else, before it just kinda felt like a splinter. Anyway, did I mention Lauren has been here the entire time? She's been texting the boys in our group chat. That'll be fun for me to read later. 

                     After the doctor takes the wire out of my finger, I go with another nurse to get an x-ray to make sure there's nothing left in my thumb. After sitting for a while the doctor says everything's good and we can go. This whole ordeal took about 2 hours and I ended up missing skating practice for it. Oh well. We go home and Colin and Tyler meet us there. Colin proceeds to tease me about how dumb it is that I had to go to the ER because I got a wire from a fake flower stuck in my thumb, and Tyler just kinda is relived. Also, did I mention I still have the wire? The nurse put it in a little container and I still have it. Soon my friends go home and I put the wire in a box under my bed where I keep other memorable things.
