While Jefferson led Ella to the car, she held his hand in hers and swayed back and forth.
"So, where will we be going Jefferson?" she asked.
"Well, I set up dinner back at my place and after that I thought I could play the piano a bit for you." he said shyly. Ella smiled brightly and squeezed his hand tighter.
"That sounds amazing.."
They drove off to Jefferson's mansion in comfortable silence with some classical music playing in the background. Once they reached the mansion, the lights were more dim and the atmosphere was very romantic. Jefferson had spread rose pedals along the entrance of the hallways leading to the dining area. Ella was in complete awe, she was shocked he did all of this for her.
"Jefferson.."
"I wanted to make this night special for us...well..for you." he said. Jefferson pulled Ella's seat out and she sat down happily.
"Now mademoiselle, I shall get you your dinner!" he said as he lifted his hand dramatically and gave her another rose.
Ella giggled and looked up at him. He kissed her forehead lightly and went to the kitchen to get their plates. She sighed happily and leaned back on the chair. She hoped everything would work out between them. Heck, they were already acting like they were a couple for goodness sake. She just wanted to finally remember everything instead of finding out by bits and pieces.
A few minutes later, Jefferson returned with two plates filled with food. Ella had to stop herself from salivating and focus on the man in front of her.
"Bon appetite." said Jefferson.
They ate their food in peace, occasionally chatting about different things. But the main thing, was that they could not keep their eyes off of each other. Once they were done, Jefferson led Ella to the huge living room, so he could play piano for her like he promised her.
Ella walked around admiring the decor of the mansion, but something had caught her eye. It was a white stuffed bunny rabbit, that was placed on the window ledge. Ella walked over to the window and lifted the bunny. Once she did, her vision became blurry and a scene suddenly flashed before her eyes.
*FLASHBACK*
"Mama! Papa!" said Grace as she ran towards her family's small cottage.
Alice turned around from pinning some clothes on the small rope hanging from the trees.
"Yes darling, what is wrong?"
"I saw the most lovely unicorn by the stream!" she said hugging her mother's legs tightly.
"Did you now?"said Alice smiling, as she bent down to her daughters level.
"What's all the commotion about?" said Jefferson as he came outside.
"Papa!" said Grace as she ran towards her father. He lifted her up and spun her around in circles, causing Grace to burst out a fit of giggles.
"Our daughter has just seen a unicorn!" said Alice.
"Ah, you did? Did you make a wish?!" he said as he kissed his daughters cheek.
"Ha ha ha! Of course Papa! I wished we could live in a great big house! And mama can have a huge kitchen like she always wanted!"
Jefferson and Alice looked at each other sadly, but quickly smiled again when Grace noticed.
"Whats wrong? Do you not like my wish Papa?"
"Of course I do sweetheart." Jefferson kissed her forehead and set her back down on the ground. Alice walked over to them and kissed Jefferson on the cheek. He turned his head and grabbed her by the waist and kissed her deeply.
