Gavin's POV.

"What's going on, is something wrong?!" I asks as my mom pushes me out the door yelling, "Go get Ebony!" She slams it in my face and I don't hesitate to run.

"What's happened?!" I scream while thrusting their front door open.

"Why are you screaming?" Beta James asks while rubbing his head.

"My mom was freaking out and kept on telling me to come here!" I exclaim and close the door behind me.

"It's nothing, but I want you to try and convince Ebony outside." Beta James says and with that Ebony walks into the living room.

"Gavin," Ebony says before walking into my arms. I pat her head as she sniffs me. I awkwardly smile at her dad. Beta James rolls his eyes and motions with his hands to the door.

"Ebony, would you like to go explore with me?" I whisper with excitement. She nods her head and backs away some. Ebony grabs my hand and looks into my eyes.

"Where?" She asks.

I widen my eyes and drawl out, "the outside," with a bit of amazement in my voice.

"No," Ebony deadpans and crosses her arms.

"No ghost will hurt you because I'll protect you." I say and grab her hand. Ebony drops her arms, but the grip of her fingers tighten on mine.

"Alright," she nods her head. I guide her to the front door. Ebony doesn't hesitate to leave her house though.

"The park is a couple of blocks over, we can go there." I suggest, Ebony only nods her head yes while looking around.

During the entire time, Ebony never lets go of my hand. I bring her over to the pack park where most of my friends hang out. When they see me, they all run over. Ebony hides behind my back.

"Gavin, what's up?"

"Hey dude, how's it been?"

"Who's that behind you?"

They bombard me with questions. As I'm about to answer them, "Guys, this is Eb-," Cameron reached out his hand towards her. "Don't touch her," I bite out in warning and everybody backs away except for Ebony.

There eyes are wide and once I realize that I am growling, I stop and everything gets quiet. "I'm sorry, I don't why I did that!" I laugh, forcing a grin on my lips.

My friends all chuckle before, while keeping there distance, exclaim about me growling.

"Woah dude! Tell us how you did that!"

"Yeah, how come you can growl and we can't?"

They questions and rough house, speaking over each other.

"Anyways, this is Ebony, Beta James's daughter." I introduce, tugging her forward with my hand. Ebony reluctantly comes to stand in front of me. I set my hands on her shoulders as she sags against me.

"Hi," she whispers.
