Chapter 1: we're back

Dakota's pov
It's been a year since I got kidnapped by the drug brothers, since then everything has been fine. I graduated from high school and moved in with Cole, Leon lists a lot and the two still hate each other but I make it work out. Leon has his own room here because I got tired of waking up and seeing that he was slobbering all over my favorite pillow on the couch. Me and Cole have got to go on dates and just stay home and watch movies, it's fun, and we get to talk every night before we go to sleep. We're not at the point where we sleep in the same bed but live together.

I woke up hearing my alarm going off, I rolled my eyes as I got out of bed and looked at the clock, which read 6:25. I had an hour to get ready for work, I work at a cafe that is down the street, Cole and Leon said I shouldn't work at all, but I don't want to feel like a bum and spend their money. So I got the job. I got in the shower, scrubbed up and other stuff. Got out put on my clothes which was a tank top and black skinny jeans with black low cut converses.

When I went to the kitchen I saw Leon sitting at the island with a bowl of cereal, 'hey, how was work?' I sighed to him "good, can you come over tonight the guys miss you." He said with a smile 'sure.' I sighed while nodding my head with a smile, I got a nutrition​ bar out and looked at the time. 'Hey, I gotta go to work but see you later. Love you.' I sighed to him as I headed to the front door, I headed outside to Cole's car which was a charger with a matte black color.

When I made it to the cafe, I went inside to see my friend Caroline. We started working at the cafe at the same time a year ago. I smiled and waved at her as I hanged up the leather jacket I stole from Leon while I was heading out the door, "oh my God, is your friend coming over again today?" She asked as I went behind the counter and put on my apron. I shrugged my shoulders as I got my notepad from under the counter and wrote down 'I don't know'   and showed it to her. "I hope he doses, because he is fine as can be. What's his name again?" She asked, I wrote down Leon's name and showed it to her.

After Caroline was done obsessing over how hot Leon was, I turned the sigh on saying we were open. A person came in and went up to the counter and said "Can I have a mocha Latte?" I started to work on the Latte as Caroline told him how much it was, when I was done I handed the person the coffee​ and gave him a smile. When he left​ the cafe Caroline started to jabber " oh my god that guy was really cute, did you see his arms? They were huge, he must work out." I rolled my eyes as I got my notepad out and wrote 'you hit on every guy that walks in this cafe, hell you even hit on my friend.' I showed her, and she waved her hand and said "because you friend is super fucking hot, but since your dating another dude.your boyfriend must be a fucking goddess." she said with a laugh. I rolled my eyes as the door dinged causing me to look at the door. There stood Leon as he looked at me, "hey kota bear" he said with a smile, I waved at him as he headed behind the desk. Leon always hangs out here in the morning before he goes to work, because he says that we are best friends and should let nothing get in the way of hanging out with each other and that his job is dangerous and I shouldn't hang with him while im at risk.

It's been 3 hours since I began work and no one is here. Right now I'm sitting on a stool behind the counter and Caroline is on her phone with her earbuds on leaving me to be half asleep. But as soon as I was so close to fall asleep the ding from the door was heard making me to open my eyes and look at the door to see Cole, i spong up to see that he was starring at me with a smirk. "Is that him?" I heard Caroline say as I looked at her to see her looking at me with her earbuds off. I nodded my head to her as Cole came closer to the counter, "oh my god, are you serious?" she said with a smile as she looked back and forth to me and Cole. She went up to Cole and held out her hand to shake his, when they shook hands she said "I head so much about you, and I thought Leon was the one she was talking about, but they kept on denying it, but now I can't believe it." She said with a smile on her face. "You know Leon?" He asked with his eyes turning a little dark, "yeah he comes in every morning and hangs out with Dakota. Aren't you going over to his place later?" Caroline said, I swear she can stupid some times. 'He's my boyfriend, and you just told him that I'm going over to a guys house later.' I wrote down and handed to her, he eyes widen as she started to stutter out "I didn't mean it like that."

Cole's eyes were black now as he spoke "can I speak with you outside kota?" He pulled my arm dragging me outside "what is this, that you're going to Leon's after work." He growled out Leon's name. 'I'm going to see my friend, I haven't seen them in a while and I want to hang with Leon.' I wrote on the notepad, "He comes to the house every night, and you guys don't go to bed until midnight." He said "I'm coming with you then, I'll be here to pick you up." He kissed my forehead and walked to his car. I rolled my eyes as I thought that he's so protective when it comes to Leon. I went back into the cafe to finish my job.
