Dakota's Pov

I opened the door slowly and saw that cole was sitting on the floor with a bottle of jack that was half empty, I walked into the room slowly. "Cole, are you okay?" I asked as I stood in front of him. Cole looked up at me with sadness "do you even love me, Kota?" I looked at him confused "of course I do." I said " then why don't you show it? we have been living with each other for a year and you all of a sudden start sleeping in another room, and it seems like I don't see you at all because you're always going out." he said as he took another swig of the bottle, i signed as i sat in front of him and said "look, I can start sleeping in here again, and I've been distant because there has been a lot of stress on me for pick sides with you or my father, and Jermaine the guy in there has been in my dreams and have shown me what would happen if this war happened. and now I have to make a decision to kill my dad or try to talk him out of doing this war." Cole looked shocked at what I just said, I signed "and I been having these dreams where you are in your wolf form and you attack me. I know I shouldn't be scared of you because of that, but those dreams feel so real." I paused and looked up at Cole, he had fear in his eyes. Cole grabbed both of my hands and looked me in the eyes as he said: "I will never hurt you, Dakota, I would rather die than hurt you." I nodded my head " I know you won't hurt me, but it's just been hard lately to tell what's real and what's not. How about you help me with all of this? I could use my alpha and mate right now" cole and I laughed as we sat on the floor.

We exited the room and walked into the living room, we saw Leon and Jermaine sitting on the couch talking. I sat next to Leon and Cole sat next to me, "Jermaine I explained everything to cole. Now we just got to explain it to Leon." Leon looked at us and said, "oh I already know about the whole war and that if you don't stop your dad then this pack and cole is dead." I looked at him confused "how did you know?" Leon shrugged his shoulders "I've been doing my research while you've been gone and cole being in his room. And I got all the documents of all the kills your dad has done." He pulled out four huge books that were filled to the brim. "These are all his?" I asked amazed at how many wolves he has killed. "Kota, your father has been the best hunter since he was 12. He has killed thousands, maybe millions." Leon said I set down the book "why does he hate them?" I asked, I looked at Leon and he shrugged his shoulders "no one ever told me, they just told me he is the best and he's one of the leaders of the hunters." my eyes widened "he's a leader?!" I asked in shock "yeah, he's been a leader since he was 25. at that time the leaders saw that he was the best hunter there and made him a leader early, most people that are lucky to be a leader doesn't get it until their mid-30s or early 40s." Leon said as he pulled out an old picture of three men standing over my father as he kneeled to them with a sword in his hands, Leon pointed to the sword and said "that's the sword that they gave to your dad the day he became a leader. you and your mom were there that day." I looked up at Leon and asked, "I was there?" Leon nodded his head and said "that's also the day your mom figured out that she didn't want you to grow up in a hateful environment and she saw that your father was way into the hunter's group and couldn't ask him to leave with you guys. so she left with you that night."

After Leon told us about my dad being a leader, I couldn't stop thinking about it. But we moved on to what the hunters are trained to do, Leon was one not that long ago. Leon showed us the weapons they use, the techniques they used on wolves and the gadgets their making to take down multiple wolves at a time. I felt like my mind was split, should I kill my father because he's too far into the hunters or should I try to talk to the man that suddenly is my father and tries to kill my mate. Leon and cole were in the kitchen while Jermaine and I were still in the living room, we were still looking through the books that were filled with all the ideas and skills that the hunters used on the wolves. I looked up at Jermaine and asked: "if you were in my place, could you do it?" Jermain looked at me with sad eyes "that day your father came to my pack, he killed my parents, my mate, my friends, and my people. They all didn't deserve to die, but your father kept me alive so I can go through the pain that my whole pack was dead and that I couldn't protect them. Your father had destroyed a lot of packs and he won't stop until he's put down, I know that he is your dad but he's a monster."
