Chapter 8

DANI

We finally made it to Ohio after a long 3 hour drive. I am so exhausted I could die. My arms and legs feel like they could fall off. I NEEDED TO STRETCH. I was the first to get out. They all fell asleep. I need a nap. A long nap. I closed my car door ever so slightly trying not to wake them all up. We were in a McDonalds parking lot. Where else would I park? I don't know where they used to live or their old school. I stretched out my body looking like a complete idiot but I didn't really care. I needed to stretch really bad. I walked around the car and went up to Santana's door. I opened it slightly and took a deep breathe in.

"Santana, we're here." I pushed her around a bit.

"nooo" she whispered softly. 'maybe this will wake her wide up' I thought. I leaned down and kissed her lips. She smiled instantly.

"We should wake them up" she said. She reached out for my hand. I pulled her out. Then, she hugged me. That was sweet. I hadn't felt her warm body for hours. It felt really good. Santana opened up the back door where Rachel was sleeping. She pushed both Rachel and Kurt around to wake them.

"Rachel... Lady Hummel... Wake up." their eyes both opened. I looked over Santana's shoulder. We both smiled at them.

"We're here." Santana said. We moved out of the way for the two sleepy heads. They got out looking confused.

"Why are we at mcdonalds?" Rachel asked.

"Uhh... So we can get something to eat?"

"No way I'm not eating here" Kurt said.

"Fine." I said.

"How about we go to my dad's house." Rachel suggested.

"Wait a second... Dads? You have two dads?"

"Yes and if you and Santana have children you will be two moms" Rachel groaned as she gave me a dirty look.

"Sorry little miss perfect-"

"Ok you guys stop!" Kurt shouted. I rolled my eyes. This time, Rachel at in the front.

"What the hell, berry?" Santana shouted.

"I'm sitting up here so I can show her where my dads live." Santana rolled her eyes and got in the back seat.

"Sorry I giving you guys crap right now. I'm just so exhausted." I said. I looked at the back. Santana was smiling. I started the car again, and we were off again!

SANTANA

We finally get food! Fucking finally I'm starving my ass off. We stopped my Berry's old crappy house. We all got out of the car. I looked over at dani's hand and instantly grabbed it. She looked down at me grabbing it and then looked back at me and smiled. Rachel knocked on the door and one of her dads popped the door open.

"Rachel, baby! Hey, Rachel's here!" The man yelled at his husband while hugging Rachel tightly. Rachel started sobbing. I grip dani's hand tighter. Rachel's other dad comes out and comforts both of them. Then, they see Kurt and hug him too. Wow. I feel totally not included here. They all released but then look over at us.

"Santana?" One of the dad's say. I nod with a half smile. He then glances at dani.

"And you are, miss?"

"I'm Danielle. But you can call me dani if you like." Dani smiles at the man and then at me.

"Call me Leroy! Also, this is Hiram!" Hiram turns around and shakes dani's hand. Fuck I forgot their names. I've only met them once or twice so yeah. They both look happy to see all of us.

Hiram and Leroy bring us inside. Me and dani both sit on the sofa while Rachel is helping her dads make us some food to eat. I look over at dani. She seems pretty bored. I still have my hand in hers as we usually do.

"Hey dani?" She looks over at me.

"Yeah?"

"Tomorrow do you want to stay at my parents house with me? My old house?" She raises her eyebrows in confuse meant. I understand since I would have to meet her parents sometime and I would feel the same way.

"Uhh sure." I smile and grip her hand harder. I kiss her on the cheek for the hell of it.

"I love you..." I whisper in her ear.

"I love you too, San." we both look at each other and smile.

"Foods done, y'all!" Leroy says.

"DAD!" Rachel screams while hitting her dad.

"What?" We all laughed.

"Leroy, hunny. I've never heard you say 'y'all' before."

"But isn't that what the kids are saying these days?" Me and Dani stood up.

"Yeah. Country kids." Dani said. I couldn't help but laugh my ass off. We both sat down to eat. Steak, hell yeah! I hear crying. What the hell? It's Kurt. I can tell. He comes out of the bathroom crying.

"Are you ok, Hummel?" I ask trying not to sound like a total bitch.

"Y-Yeah. I was just talking to Blaine. The memorial is tomorrow at 3 pm for Finn." I looked over at Rachel and saw her eyes watering. It felt really hard not to cry right now. I could see at the corner of my eye, dani was looking at me to see if I was ok.
