Chapter 25

Peter Pan's P.O.V.

I couldn't stop looking at her after I woke up. Her blond hair was scattered on her back. Her left hand and her head lay on my chest. She was so beautiful. Then I saw the scar on her neck. I made it. That was a little bit too harsh for me. No, I don't care. She needed to learn, and now she has something from me. She has a mark from me. Mine. 

It was weird holding her in my arms, but I treasured it. What is this girl doing to me? I need to stop being nice to her. I can't have a weakness. I can't be in love. I looked at her one more time and slowly put her head on the pillow. I got up and looked at myself in the mirror. This time I didn't have bags under my eyes. I slept well,  very well.I looked again at Clary. She was still sleeping. 

I saw her before. I remember it clearly. She came to Neverland when she was a kid. She was about 7, and she was always running and singing. I never showed myself. But I always watched her from afar. But then she stopped coming. I didn't think much of it. Those things happen. Not everyone is like me or the boys. Some people want to grow up. But Clary... even when she was a kid, she never wanted to be an adult.  But now she was here. With me. With us. I left the tent and it finally wasn't raining.  Just when I wanted to go into the jungle I heard Felix.

"Pan!" I turned around.

"Yes ?" I asked raising my eyebrow.

"We don't have any food," He said making me scratch my temple.

"Catch some rabbits, and if you find some nest of some bird take the eggs. " I said and he nodded in response. I started walking into the jungle but his question stopped me.

"Pan, should I bring some food to her in the cage?"

"Yes, and bring her some blankets. I can bet that she is cold." I answered and continued on into the jungle.

While I was walking I thought about what to do with Clary. She is so clever, strong, and stubborn, but lost and scared. And she is changing me. Everything is changing. She, makes me feel something I never did. That wasn't good. I couldn't allow myself to have feeling for her, or anyone.  She is just another girl Pan. Just another girl. I needed a cold bath to reset myself. I went to the lake and dived in. I was thinking about everything that happened between me and Clary these past few days. I just couldn't get her out of my head. I didn't like it. Not even a bit. 

Clary's P.O.V.

I opened my eyes to see that Peter was not in the bed. I smiled as the memory of the night hit me. God, am I really falling for him? I took a deep breath and got up. I changed into tight black pants and a green buttoned shirt. I put my belt on and my daggers. I  put on brown high boots and my hair in a high ponytail. When I was ready I got out of the tent. It was warm outside, a big change since yesterday. I looked over the camp to see that the lost boys were eating. Then someone poked my ribs making me wince and look at smiling Felix. 

"Morning" I greeted.

"Breakfast is ready," Felix said as we went over to the table. I sat between him and Derek. I got really close to them. With Felix, Derek and Liam. They were friendly and funny. We were messing around and laughing, until I realized that Liam wasn't there. He didn't show up at all during breakfast.

"Derek, where is Liam?" I asked and he shrugged.

"The cage?" Felix chuckled. "Have you forgotten?"

"Right..." I mumbled. 

"But... I was at the cages. He wasn't there." Felix then said making me look at him. " Maybe Pan needed him for something?" Felix added.

" Do you know where Pan is ?" I asked.

"He looked weird when I saw him in the morning. And he is behaving differently in the last few days. He went to take a walk I think." Felix replied and I nodded. 

I decided to let that go and just have fun with the boys. Then Pan got back, and everyone's heads turned towards him. I could see how the boys had a big respect towards him. Pan looked over the camp and then his eyes landed on me. He grinned and walked to me.

"Clary, come with me." He said as his hand grabbed my elbow. His hair was wet. He probably had a bath, I thought. Pan was walking really fast, it was hard to keep up. I was curious about what he thought about last night and about everything that was happening between us. Did he feel something too? I wanted to ask him, but I knew that he would just laugh and I would look like a fool. So I just kept my mouth shut . Then we were by the fallen tree. We were going to the mermaid lagoon.  I followed him until the end of the tree, just before I was to step on the soil of the mermaid lagoon.

"Why are we here?" I asked crossing my arms and looking at him.

"You, need to find Liam." He snickered and my eyes widened.

"Hurry up love if you want to see him alive." He laughed and disappeared. My rage grew. Fucking asshole, I thought. But I didn't have time to curse him or hate him. Liam. I had to find Liam.

"Liam!" I screamed but nothing. Pan said that I need to hurry if I want see him alive. Water. Mermaid lagoon. Shit. I ran towards the water with the hope that he is not with some mermaid. But I was not so lucky.

"Liam!!" I scream as I saw him with a mermaid. She was singing, and she was beautiful. She had a long orange tail, blond hair, blue eyes and a beautiful voice. But I knew that she was a monster. Liam was just looking at her. He was hypnotized. I could see Liam getting closer to the water, and it made my heart beat like crazy. I ran screaming his name.

"Liam, go away from her!" I screamed but he didn't even turn his head towards me. The Mermaid grabbed his face and started slowly diving in. 

"Liam!" I screamed again. I don't remember the last time I ran that fast. I didn't stop. I slid on the soil to try and get to Liam faster.  I grabbed his arm and pulled him away from the mermaid, giving him a dirty look the mermaid. The mermaid roared and started singing again. Hell no. I grabbed a rock and threw it at her. But she didn't stop singing, she just glared at me. Liam started moving towars her.

"Liam!" I grabbed his arm pulling him back. "She wants to drown you!" He got out of my grip and rushed toward the mermaid. The mermaid grabbed him and just when she could pull him in the water I trowed my dagger at her. She screamed and let go of Liam. My dagger hit her shoulder. I didn't think much, I just pulled Liam further away

"Get up," I said and helped him up. I looked at the mermaid and she was crying in pain.  She took the dagger out from her shoulder and then smirked at me. She threw the dagger at me, making me push Liam to the left side. I jumped to the right, letting a growl out as my body hit a rock.. I looked back at the mermaid and I saw that her eyes were dark as night. I sneered at her and she dived into the water. I got slowly up looking at the water.

"Stupid mermaids," I mumbled under my breath and looked at Liam who was looking like some lost puppy.

"You okay?" I asked and he nodded.

"What the hell just happened?" He asked massaging his temple and got up.

"You almost became a meal. Mermaid meal. And I need to find PAN!!" I screamed the last bit looking around thinking he'll b there. a

"Why?" Liam asked.

"Because this was my freaking test!" He arched a brow. I knew this was my test because Pan wouldn't do this without a reason.

"Thanks for saving me.." Liam just said and I smiled at him.

"Any time, let's get you back to camp." I said. We started walking back to the camp, but I kept turning around, making sure that mermaid doesn't try any other tricks.
