Jade's POV
She's stealing the one good thing in my life. I thought as I saw her hug Chris and lead her into the locker room.Chris hasn't even looked at me since she and Nat have gotten so close. Chris couldn't keep her eyes off of Nat. I knew that. But it didn't stop me from developing feelings for this girl.
After a bit, I saw Nat's arm draped around Chris's shoulder, both of them laughing about something the other said.
A pang of jealousy hit me like a punch in the gut.
She was mine first. I can't let her take my happiness away from me again.
I grit my teeth and returned to me car and drove home, my insides boiling with anger.
How the hell am I supposed to get her back?
Chris's POV
I saw her standing there with jealousy burning in her eyes. But, frankly, I didn't care. I had Nat's arm around my shoulder, feeling protected and safe. That's all that mattered to me.Practice was harder then usual, all of us were wiped out by the end of it. I stood with my hands on my hips and wiped the sweat off of by brow.
"Good job ladies! Scrimmage and we'll be done!" Coach called.
I groaned. As much as I liked scrimmages, I felt like I couldn't walk anymore.
"Chris and Hannah are team captains!" Coach called. "Chris first pick."
"Cap." I nodded.
Nat came over and high-fived me.
We picked out teams and picked out side. It was a full on 11v11 and the coach and our injured players refereed.
Both sides were suffering and there were still scoring goals but they were easy goals. Our side still had a clean sheet going with Nat and I running around and doing both defense and offense.
"Nat and Chris. You may leave." Coach called and I let out a breath of relief.
I trudged to the locker room and sat down.
"I think my legs are dead." Nat said.
"Tomorrow's the captains practice isn't it?" I asked.
"No wonder he's so hard today. And let us out early." Nat nodded.
"Yup." I said and lay down on the bench.
"Let's get out eh?" Nat asked and I nodded.
I changed quickly and got out of the locker room with Nat.
I saw that the team was still going.
"Come on!" I called. "Pick it up!"
"Defense! Stay strong!" Nat called.
"Points of attack! You got this!"
"Get in! Get in! End line!"
We just kept yelling at them until the coach blew the whistle.
"Good work!" I yelled.
I pat some of them in the back and walked towards the coach.
