"Andrew..."
The voice dripped with malice and lust; lust for control and power.
"Wake up." The voice breathed in his ear. "It's time to play, my Prophet..."
Andy bolted upwards, looking around wildly. He was kind of expecting to be back in his room, probably passed out on the floor or something, but he wasn't there. He wasn't really... anywhere.
Everything was black. Pitch black. He couldn't see anything until a light flickered on. He couldn't find the source of it, however, but then again... He was probably still in the game somewhere, and games weren't always the best at being realistic 100% of the time.
"Who's there?" Andy shouted, his voice echoing and bouncing around the large empty space. "Answer me. Where am I?"
"You're nowhere special... While the game resets, us characters have a bit of down time..." The voice drawled. "I know you're not one of us but... I still deserve time with you, don't you think?"
Andy looked around and finally saw the man from earlier. Large black cloak draped over him, skin deathly pale, teeth yellow and crooked. The very image of him was repulsive, even more so up close.
"Who are you." Andy demanded.
"Oh, I don't have a name. Not one that's of any concern to you..." The man grinned wickedly, creeping closer. "What I do believe should concern you, is who I portray in this world..."
"And what would that be." Andy stepped back.
"Greed... Lust for power. I represent the evils of your world, it was the creators intent. But you humans in the real world know me as the final boss, I suppose." He lifted his head, eyes a pure black and burning into Andy's skull.
Andy swallowed thickly and looked around. He had nowhere to run, or hide, and no self defense.
"You're- You're one of the characters tied to the real world, aren't you." Andy stepped back again.
"How'd you guess." The man mused.
"You knew I wasn't supposed to be here. But why try and kill me? You must have known that-"
"Of course I did... but I'm not the same person as I am in the real world. You see... The personality traits I acquire and take on are the ones my human self took on as my character was in development. I am cold, I am heartless, and I have no sympathy for your pathetic self."
Andy quickly dove to the side as the man suddenly lunged at him.
"Stay still, Andrew." He sneered. "While the game is in reset mode, I'm also without weapons."
Andy dodged him again, running to nowhere in particular; just in attempt to escape the mad man that was chasing him aimlessly.
"The games gonna reset entirely in a few minutes, so all I have to do is out-run you!" He spat over his shoulder."Or I just have to do this." Another voice appeared in the black abyss that Andy was running towards, and the man disappeared in a cloud of pixels, disintegrating into the darkness.
"What the- What the hell?" Andy panted, stopping and turning to look around for whoever it was.
"I'm the main character of this fucked up place, I've got a bit of control over the others."
Andy tensed and looked over his shoulder, finally seeing the source of the familiar voice."Deviant..." He breathed and ran to him, arms open. Deviant smiled crookedly, opening his arms in return and embracing him.
"Hey, kid. How're you doing?"
"I- I'm good, I guess. How are you? What are you doing here?" Andy asked frantically, looking him over.
"Think of this as... 'game limbo.'" Deviant shrugged. "I've been hanging out here for a bit. It's about time you got the game reset, I was so bored." He rolled his eyes.
Andy hit his shoulder.
"Hey- Hey, I'm kidding!" Deviant held his hands up.
Andy shot him a glare and sat down. "So... how'd you get rid of him?
"I told you, dumbass." Deviant sighed heavily. "I'm the main character in this world. I have a bit of power over the others. It's- It's complicated."
Andy nodded. "So.. when do I get to leave?" He sighed, looking up at him.Deviant sat beside him. "In about... one minute, at this point." He looked at him. "Sorry about dragging you into this mess, by the way. Really. It was impulsive, and uncal-"
Andy rolled his eyes and grabbed him, crashing their lips together. Deviant tensed and stared at him, pulling back a bit
"Andy, wha-"
"Just shut up. I only have a minute with you." Andy muttered and kissed him again. Deviant, this time, closed his eyes and wrapped his arms around him tightly, a hand tangling his hair. The light that was dimly lighting the space they were in suddenly shut off, enveloping them in total darkness once more. Andy pulled back, looking around. "What's going on?" He panicked.
Deviant put an arm around him.
"The game's finishing it's reset." He whispered. "It's time for you to go."Andy's heart dropped into the pit of his stomach. Part of him was eager to leave, but the other part of him had become so attached, so in love with Deviant that... he didn't want to go just yet.
"Already..?" Andy frowned sadly. Deviant squeezed his shoulder. "I don't- but what about you?"
"I'm out there. I promise..." Deviant sighed. "You'll find me.. but I won't know who you are. Not exactly. You'll probably be nothing more than a dream I had."
Andy pursed his lips. "Will I remember any of this?"
"Oh yeah." Deviant laughed quietly. "But- you can't tell anyone about this. Okay?"
Andy nodded and closed his eyes. "What do I do. How do I go home." He whispered.Deviant, once again, squeezed his shoulders. "Just sleep... Sleep and you'll wake up at home." He murmured, pressing a tender kiss to his temple.
Andy took deep breaths and let himself relax, soon feeling as though he was falling asleep.
Within a matter of minutes, he was out cold, falling into Deviants arms limply.
"I'll see you soon, Prophet..."The voice was nothing more than that. A voice. A voice echoing inside of Andy's head, like it really was just all a dream. But it was so loud, and felt so real, that it shook Andy awake and back to reality. He shot upright, chest rising and falling as he struggled to catch his breath and calm down, beads of sweat on his forehead. "Deviant? Is that you?" He looked around wildly, suddenly stopping the frantic motions. Blue walls, ratty and torn posters decorating the room, Halloween string lights hung from the ceiling above a laptop with the Misfits skull logo glowing as his screensaver. It was the only light in the room, now that it seemed to be the middle of the night.
Andy turned his head to check the clock to confirm. The green numbers displayed '3:02 a.m.'
How long was he gone? He got off his bed and went to his laptop, moving the mouse to wake it up and go back to the home screen. He pursed his lips, seeing the 'Legion' home screen. With a heavy sigh, he exited out.
"That's enough of that for a while..." He muttered and closed the lid, going back to his bed.
A/N: thought I'd do a bit of more writing for this before I go to work today lol sorry, I'm slowly going downhill with ideas and details for this haha
