A/N: hi if you already read this chapter and received a story update notif, it's because I realized Matt isn't in this story, the character I was referring to as Matt was actually supposed to be Danny so I had to fix that sorry bbz<3

'Yo, this is Danny. I can't get to the phone right now, so leave a message or whatever.'

Andy sighed, waiting for the beep before speaking. "Hey, Danny, uh. This is Andy. Give me a call after work or something." He hung up and set his phone next to him on the bed. It had been two days since he got back from the game, and he was a bit... conflicted. Andy wanted so badly to tell someone; to share his story with someone, but Deviant had insisted that it was best if he didn't.
Deviant was literally the only thing he could think about. Yeah, okay, sure, Andy nearly died probably three times, and he had just been inside of a video game, for real, but all he cared to think about was that bastard of a main character, with his honey brown eyes and smug ass smirk. That face was etched into his mind down to the last damn detail. The way he always folded his arms when he stood in place, the way he was always so determined. Everything about that sexy bastard was constantly in his head, only making Andy miss him all the more.

Andy startled a slight bit at the ding of his phone and looked over, seeing Danny had sent him a text. He lifted his phone up to read it and took note of the message that provided with a time and place to meet Danny later. Andy got up and took a quick shower to hopefully clear his head a bit. He turned the water off when he finished and stepped out, drying off a bit and pulling on a pair of blue skinny jeans, cuffed at the bottom, and a leather jacket over a grey, ratty tank top. He looked in the mirror. His hair really need some work. It was so snarled and long, now... Briefly, he remembered how his hair had been modified when he got pulled into Legion only days prior. Well, he never got a good look at it because he never thought about it, but he felt it, definitely. The sides were shaved, but the rest was growing out. His bands were short, but his hair gradually got longer towards the back. To put it simply, it was kind of a punk mullet.
"Mom? Dad?" He poked his head out into the hall, looking down the stairs. Andy waited for a response, and when he deemed himself to be home alone, he took to his sketchbook. He sketched out an outline of a head and began to draw out generally what the hairstyle, tongue sticking out of the corner of his mouth a bit in concentration.

"Perfect..." He smiled, admiring the final draft of his work. Andy grabbed his wallet, a bag to take his laptop along with, and slid shoes on, jogging to the salon.

The girl at the desk looked up and smiled. "Oh, hello. Do you have an appointment?" She asked sweetly.
Andy shook his head. "Uh, no. But I was hoping I could do a walk-in kinda thing?"
The girl looked at the time and then the clipboard that, Andy assumed, listed the daily appointments. "Well... I suppose. My next client isn't for another hour and a half, so I can spare some time. Come on back." She smiled and scribbled down something on the clipboard and then led Andy to a chair. Andy sat in the chair and handed her his sketch.

"Could you do this?" He asked awkwardly. The girl took the paper and looked it over, holding it up to compare to Andy.
"I think I can do a little something..." She hummed, using a magnet to hold the paper up on the mirror for reference.

Throughout the whole haircut, they made awkward small talk about life and careers, and Andy was almost positive she was trying to hit on him. Oh, how Andy would love to just blurt out that he was taken, but unfortunately, he wasn't. Not yet, and after Deviant, probably not ever.
"All done, handsome." She hummed and spun the chair around so Andy could see his reflection. Andy's jaw dropped a bit. "Woah.." He breathed. "It's- Wow."
"It looks very nice on you, if I do say so myself." She smiled, taking the cape off of him and draping it over the chair once Andy stood.
Andy was led back to the counter, where the girl gave him his total. He swiped his credit card. "Uh. Well, thanks for squeezing me in quick. Have a nice day." He nodded, smiling warmly and going to the door. "Come back anytime." She waved, smiling back as he left.

From the salon, Andy found his way to the comic book store where Danny said to meet him at 3. It was just barely past 2:30, so Andy was early. Deciding to kill some time, he got a coffee from the cafe next door and sat down inside the comic book store. He took out his laptop and opened up his web browser, fingers hovering over the keys as he complimented.

Deviant had mentioned his real-life name. Shit, what was it? It started with an A... As.. Ash? Ashton? Asher? Ashley? Yes, that was it, Ashley! Without hesitation, Andy typed in the name and then stopped. Fuck, he never got a last name.
"Damn it." He rubbed his eyes. "Woah... Wait." He muttered to himself and cleared the search bar, typing up 'Legion Trailer' and hit search. Sure enough, a handful of different trailers popped up in the search and Andy selected the first one that was released. He was too impatient to watch through the whole thing, skipping to the credits.

'The Deviant' flashed on the screen in large white font, and the name below it read 'Ashley Purdy.' Andy chewed his lip and typed the name into Google, going to images. His jaw fell to the floor as he gazed at picture after picture. He looked near the exact same... Give or take a few minor details. Next he looked up his bio, reading up on his past projects and such. Supposedly, this was his big break, and damn, was it big. The guy was practically everywhere now with Legion advertisements... Andy chewed on his lip. Wow...
"Damn. That dude is hot." A voice snorted behind him. Andy grimaced.

"Hi, Danny." He rolled his eyes and closed his laptop, turning to greet his friend who stood behind him.
"Who was he?" Danny cocked a brow.
"He- He's the guy that the main character of that one game you gave me is based off of. I dunno, he just looked interesting..." Andy muttered, trying not to make it sound like he was too interested. Danny grinned slowly.
"Oh, don't even try that with me..." He tsk-ed and leaned over, opening his laptop again. "You're totally interested in him, but not in the way you're trying to make it come off as."
"Danny, don't..." Andy sighed.
"Don't what? You obviously want to hook up with him, and I don't see why he wouldn't take interest in a pretty little thing like you, so I'm gonna get you into the release party." Danny smirked, typing away on his laptop. Andy paid no attention, staring at him like he had lost his mind.

"What?" He stared.
"You didn't know?" Danny laughed. "Dude, there's a release party that's happening at the really nice club down the road from here on Friday night. So in, like, four days. Anyone can go, but if you want to actually get close to this guy you need to be VIP, and only the big names themselves or beta testers get VIP. So..." Danny opened up Andy's email and started a new draft, typing something out and hitting send. "There. Request for VIP sent to the creator himself."
Andy nearly choked on his latte. "Wha- You did what!?" He hissed. "Danny, I wasn't even a registered tester for this one! Are you trying to get both of us in trouble!?"
Danny put a hand on Andy's back and tapped lightly. "Just trust me, bud."
