Andy sat at his desk, fingers steepled together and resting against his nose, thumbs under his chin, as he stared at his open email tab. It had been two days since Danny had sent the email, and by this time, Andy was freaking out that they were in trouble. It was a big deal for beta testers to get unreleased games without requesting permission from the creator, and if one was caught doing it, there could be possible, serious charges. That was something Andy didn't want to get himself into, obviously.
He was actually worried that he'd get declined VIP, though. That was his biggest concern.
He'd never meet Ashley, and never get to see what he was really like. Was he as sweet as Deviant? Was he has determined? Wise? Brave?
What if the guy was a total douchebag and Andy had his heart shredded? What if Andy was hoping for too much and what he got was too little...?
Besides, even if he did get the VIP, and Ashley was just as he had hoped, there was no way Andy would be of any significant interest. Ashley probably wasn't even gay. And if he was? Hell, Andy was still an egotistical, high school drop out 18 year old, with really only two people he cared to actually call friends, and no talents whatsoever. Would Ashley even think he was remotely attractive? The thoughts were suddenly interrupted when a small change occurred on the email tab that Andy had been mindlessly staring at. The number of unread emails had increased by one, and the thought alone got Andy's heart racing like mad. Without a second thought, he opened it and read through quickly.
Hello, Andy! I appreciate your initiative to reach out to me about this!
Andy cringed, unsure if he wanted to continue. Usually things that started with that ended with rejection and a polite decline.
Unfortunately, the VIP list has already been compiled and sent to the venue at which the event will be taking place. This matter is out of my hands, and I apologize deeply that you did not receive the invitation to take part.
Andy's heart plummeted. Did he even have to read any more? That said it all, he had no chance to meet Ashley...
However, your enthusiasm and reputation as an influential beta tester convinces me that the trouble of squeezing you onto the list will be worthwhile, as it seems you quite deserve this opportunity. Again, my deepest apologies for this inconvenience!
Due to the low amount of time and my busy schedule with the upcoming release of Legion, your name may not be physically on the list, so when you arrive at the venue, please bring the attached confirmation note, which is signed by me to ensure validity, to the door and you should have no problem getting in. I hope you enjoy the event!
Andy's eyes, by this time, were bulging out of his skull, gaze glued to the screen. He opened the attachment, and read, and re-read, the confirmation note that was mentioned. Did he seriously get the VIP spot?! What did Danny even say?!
He paused for a moment."I let my best friend email the creator of the most hyped game of the year, trying to get me a VIP pass into a release party, and I didn't even fucking read it." He deadpanned, mentally face-palming. "Smart move, Andrew. Real smart."
Andy opened the previously sent email that Danny had typed up. "What the... 'I had received the game by mistake, possibly a mail mix-up, but I did not realize until after I had fully played and reviewed the game.' Danny, you sly son of a bitch." He scoffed, quickly typing up an excited, yet equally as intelligent reply, sending it and then closing his laptop.
The night of the party crawled around, sneaking up on Andy. This was most definitely clear to Danny, as he sat on Andy's bed, watching his nervous friend go in and out of the closet with different shirts, or pants, or shoes, whichever it may be. Danny laid on his back and put his hands behind his head.
"I don't know why you're so worried about this, mate. It's just a game release, you really think people will give a shit what you wear?" He chuckled.
Andy poked his head out and glared. "Oh shut up, it's not the other people I care about, it's-"
"Ashley. Yeah, yeah, I know. Hurry up and settle on something, you're gonna be late." He waved a hand.Andy huffed, going back into the closet and folding his arms, critically looking through his wardrobe choices. "Okay. Fine." He muttered, pulling on a tight fitting black, long sleeved sweater, and a simple denim vest with the word 'PROPHET' embroidered in black lettering across the back. He pulled on some grey fingerless gloves, and his favorite pair of ripped black skinny jeans. He did a once over look in the full length mirror that hung on the back of his closet door, leaning in a bit to fix a bit of his smudged make up. It wasn't anything too drastic, just a bit of eyeliner and eye shadow. He fixed his one cross earring and stepped out to show his friend, who still laid on the middle of his bed carelessly. "Is this okay?"
Danny looked up, cocking an eyebrow. "What, you gonna be cold?" He teased.
Andy frowned, obviously taking it as a serious critique. "Uh- Well, no. It's just- It's comfortable, and I thought it would look nice, but if there's something wrong wi-"
"Nothing's wrong, Andy. I'm just giving you a hard time." Danny laughed. "Now hurry up and leave, will ya?"Andy nodded quickly, lacing up his boots and grabbing the note he was supposed to show at the door. "Um, shoot. Don't stay here too long, please? My mom's fine with you hanging around and all, but she's not too fond of you staying so late... Out by 9?"
Danny sighed. "I'll be gone by 8:45." He waved a hand. "Now go, get your man."
Andy blushed ever so faintly and darted down the stairs, rushing to the club.A/N: this is the outfit I attempted to describe Andy as wearing haha idk this was one of my favorite looks so I mean why not
also, sorry for all these rushed chapters, I'm trying to wrap up some of my stories to kind of clear my plate a bit haha <3
