Chapter 8

My house is about 7 minutes to walk from Alli’s house. While getting there, we talk about surfing, which she isn’t a professional neither yet.

We finally arrive at my place and we enter it. It’s 6:30 so my parents are making dinner.

‘’Alli, here’s my mom Kate and my dad Emmet. Dad, Mom, here’s Alli.’’

After I introduce everyone, Alli and I go upstairs in my room. It’s still almost empty. There’s just my bed and a desk.

‘’I like your room.’’ Alli says.

‘’Thank you, but I prefer yours’’ I admit.

‘’Relax, you just arrived. I just really like the view from here.’’

‘’I know, I’m so happy I can see the water from my window.’’

‘’Oh gurl, I wasn’t talking about the water. Watch this.’’ Alli tells me, pointing at something.

Just in front of us, on the other side of the street, there was another window. A window that showed a room. A guy room. The boy in the room was a pretty guy.

‘’Oh lord.’’ I let out.

‘’We got to find out who he is! Jordan we got to!’’ Alli says with a formal tone.

‘’I’m not sure it’s a good--‘’

Oh my gosh. Just as I say that, the boy takes is shirt off, probably to change. His defined abs were so.. wow.

‘’Ok maybe it is a good idea.’’ I whisper, under chock.

‘’Hey! You!’’ Alli shouts to the guy.

‘’Alli! Don’t--‘’

The boy turns to the window and sees us. He comes to the casement and opens it wider, putting a new shirt on. Crap.

‘’Hey girls, what a beautiful night right?’’ He screams to us.

‘’Yep! Hey are you new here, I never saw you before!’’ Alli says.

‘’I thought YOU were the new neighbors!’’

‘’She is, I’m an old resident.’’

‘’Oh great. Want to meet in the street ladies?’’ He asks us through the street.

‘’Uh, ok we’re coming!’’ Alli nods.

She takes my hands and leads me downstairs.

‘’Alli, I don’t think we should.’’ I say, stopping her.

‘’Why not? It’s not like he’s going to bite us! Come on, a cute neighbor guy is always practical!’’

‘’Ok, but not too long.’’

‘’Yes, yes’’ she nods.

We get out of my house without my parents seeing us. The guy is already there and he is sitting on a longboard, watching his phone.

‘’Hey you’’ Alli starts.

‘’Hey girls’’ He says looking up to us.

He stands up. He is as tall as me, and, of course, taller than Alli.

‘’I’m Alli, and she’s Jordan.’’ Alli introduces.

‘’I’m Alex, nice meeting you too, so when did you arrive?’’ Alex asks me.

‘’Yesterday’’ I say shyly.

‘’Cool, and you’re old here?’’ he asks Alli.

‘’Yep, she nods. Well I just moved in Malibu 2 months ago, before I lived in LA.’’

‘’Cool! Hey, you remind me of somebody.. Where did I saw you?’’ he questions.

‘’I don’t know, I’m not super popular..’’ Alli says, super serious.

I look at her with a confused look. She answers back with saying:

‘’I’ll tell you later’’

‘’What?’’ Alex says.

‘’Oh nothing!’’ Alli tells him.

‘’Hey did you.. hum.. will you go to MidWest Highschool when it starts?’’ Alex asks to Alli.

Alli answers something that I don’t understand and both start to talk really enthusiastically. They laugh and say things I don’t really understand due to Alli’s Australian accent and Alex American accent.

Since I’m not really in the conversation, I take my iPhone and see a text from an unknown number.

(412) 555-5334: Hey beauty J

Probably Cody.

You: Hey, who’s that?

(412) 555-5334: Ur favourite singer ;)

Definitely Cody.

I immediately change the name contact.

You: Ho hey Cody J

Cody: What’s up?

You: Nothing. Alli met a guy and I’m kind of excluded of their conversation.

Cody: Oh, boring. . Want me to come over?

You: Haha no it’s ok, we’re gonna eat in like 5 minutes anyways

Cody: L I would have like to come.

You: Another time, maybe!

Cody: So did you appreciate the surfing lessons earlier?

You: Yes, yes! I love to surf, even if I kinda suck.

Cody: Stop it! You’re good! It’s all because of your good teacher! ;)

You: Yes! Aaron was very great! Haha kidding! Thanks for teaching me the bases Cody!

Cody: Haha! Hey maybe we could hangout sometimes, I mean, so that I can teach new skills.. J

As I was about to answer, my mom gets out of the house and tells me that dinner is ready. I turn my phone off and go see Alli and Alex, who were gone for a little walk in Alex’s yard.

When I arrive in is backyard, they were sitting on the grass.

‘’Alli, it’s time to eat! Are you coming?’’ I call her.

‘’Yes! I’m coming! Um see you later Alex!’’ she says nervously when we leave.

‘’Gurl, what happened?’’ I ask her.

‘’I don’t know, I mean, he’s cute and so nice! Ok I need to eat or I’ll just pass out’’ she says.

We walk back home and sit at the table with my parents. Alli is very talkative so her and my parents discuss a lot. I kinda keep it low, since I’m still mad with my parents. I hate the fact that they get me away from my life. But now that I have Alli, everything is better, a little bit.
