Chapter XIX - Karma (final chapter!)

-Flashback-

I sat down on the shut toilet, restin my head in my hands to stop the world spinning. This was fantastic.

I didn't even consider it as a possibility, but it was actually happening. Gaara was going to be be so happy.

I looked once more at the pregnancy test in my hands.

Gaara... we're going to be parents...

I quickly formed a couple of hand-seals, a rock beside me disintegrating and then forming into a replica of me. A Suna Bunshin. I had to act fast, and carefully. I couldn't afford to harm the tiny life inside of me.

I glared at the five missing nin; there were two men from Iwa, and a man and woman from Kumo. The last one, seemingly the ring-leader, stood in the middle, with windswept blue hair, a sour, venomous expression, and a headguard bearing the insignia for the Hidden grass.

Damnit, these grass ninja always seemed to have that same expression... that look of bloodlust.

My clone and I subtly moved back into a better formation with Shikamaru and Sasuke, all of us watching each other warily, waiting for the opposing side to move.

The blue-haired man seemed to grow impatient, and ran straight at me, brandishing a katana. The other four surrounding Shika and Sasuke, but I couldn't pay attention to that.

I ducked and dodged as the Grass-rogue swung at me repeatedly, throwing punches or kicks reinforced with chakra when possible. I sent my sand clone to help my teammates, narrowly avoiding a cut to my precious stomach area. This guy was good.

Gen. POV

Sasuke glanced around, clutching his katana. He panted heavily; they had been fighting a while, and were massively outnumbered, for the enemy had reinforcements. That was the reason Sasuke was in this potentially fatal predicament.

He heard a pained cry, and paused, stabbing an enemy through the stomach, and seeing that Kaien had been captured. Shikamaru froze also.

What should he do?! If he used that, he could free them immediately..! But he couldn't fight all of these people on his own without it!

"Sasuke, don't! You heard what Tsunade-sama said-!!" Kaien cut off as the Grass-rogue went to hit her stomach, and managed to divert it to hit her chest. Sasuke briefly wondered why, but dismissed it as a matter of lesser importance. Grinning maliciously, the Grass ninja watched as blood spewed over the redhead's lip.

"Let me have the scroll, and I'll return the girl." Kaien's weak blue eyes gazed at the two shinobi imploringly, and it was obvious that she was telling them to leave her. Shikamaru was almost out of chakra, and Sasuke was out of options.

He felt a brief buzz on his shoulder as he forced chakra to his eyes, his mangekyo showing. Several of the enemies gasped in fear, and Sasuke smirked, despite his weariness.
