Dedication: Once again I'm dedicating this chapter to my dear friend from school: Xx_Roxy_xX who really needs to publish her story already!!!
Lorie:
I'm so stupid, how could I actually think he liked me. He's him and I'm me, the fat girl in elementary school who wore a monkey suit for Halloween and never got to live it down.
"Lorie? Hey, I haven't seen you in forever!" A girl I vaguely recognize as Samantha calls out to me. I hadn't seen her or talked to her in months, not because we had a falling out or anything, we had just stopped talking.
She quickly starts chatting with me as if we never stopped talking. Then she starts telling me about how she got a place of her own.
"Really? Why?" I ask, maybe I won't be sleeping on the streets tonight or worse, at Kameron's place.
"Well, remember Ted? And how we were going out for a while."
"Yes." They'd been together since eighth grade.
"Well we were together a few times." She says, sighing sadly. "And we weren't so careful a few times." She places her hand over her stomach which still looks fairly flat. From what she's saying, my best guess is she's preggers.
"How far along?" I ask, hoping that I'm not being too intrusive.
"Four months. My parents didn't take the news too well, but at least Ted's here to help. He got a job and we moved into a small apartment." She says, the smile back on her face.
"Yeah, my parents and I haven't been on the best terms lately." Before I know it, I'm pouring out my own life story to her. I tell her everything, except for Andy. I don't know if I can trust her with that information, even though I somehow managed to trust Kameron with it. I just don't feel like having another complete breakdown.
I hadn't even noticed that we'd been walking as we talked and we were now outside the school, sitting on some benches.
"Long story short, I need a place to stay." I finally finish. She bites her lip, deciding on her next words and whether or not she should say it.
"I guess you could stay with us, as long as Ted's okay with it. We've been talking for a really long while and I'm not feeling so well. Maybe we should just leave and I'm really craving some ice cream. Wanna go to Dairy Queen?" She's right, we've been talking for so long and I hadn't noticed the late bell ringing a while back. I check my phone and see that it's been almost an hour. I don't think my teacher's going to like me just strolling into class an hour late.
"Sure and I'll pay." I decide it's the least I can do.
Kameron:
After school I look around for Lorie, but I can't find her. She must really be mad at me if she's avoiding me. I stop by the store by my house and buy Lorie some flowers and chocolate, hoping it would change her mind about leaving.
I open the front door and step into the house. "Lorie!" I scream.
No one responds, so I run up the stairs to my room. I open my room's door to notice that all the things Lorie brought with her are gone. I notice a note on my bed.
Kameron I know you don't like me and to make your life easier I'm staying out of it. We can go back to the way it was before with you bullying me. I won't tell anyone that I ever slept at your house. It's our little secret. Don't expect me to come back either.
