Kameron:
It's now time for detention. Lorie and I walk hand in hand.
"Are you sure you don't want to just ditch it?" I say. "We could just chill at my place instead." I don't feel like staying here another hour.
"No way. You know ditching detention will just get us stuck in ISS." Lorie says, pouting. Oh, how I want to suck on that juicy bottom lip of hers.
"I've got a plan." I say, wriggling my eyebrows a bit.
"Because your plans always work out so well." She says, rolling her eyes. Ouch, that stung a bit.
"We could just say we need to go to the bathroom, then we leave." I say victoriously.
"Do you think the teacher will seriously let us go at the same time. They'll know something's up," She pauses for a minute, "but I guess it's worth a try. You go first and I'll wait a few minutes before I ask."
We walk into the room and take a seat. I seat her on my lap again. There are five other kids in the room with us. I know three of them are in here for launching a bottle rocket in the boy's bathroom, but I don't know about the other two.
As soon as we get inside, the teacher announces that he'll be heading over to the teacher's lounge to grade some papers.
"You better not get into any trouble or do anything stupid." He says, before heading out.
"Well, that was easy." Lorie says.
Once we're sure he's gone, everyone leaves.
Lorie and I decide to head over to the mall.
Lorie:
"Let's go to the food court," Lorie says, dragging me along in the direction of Chick-Fil-A.
While Kameron's ordering our food, I search for a decently clean table. I sit down and play Angry Birds on my phone, the line doesn't look too long, but I hate waiting.
The area around me suddenly gets darker and I can feel someone watching me. I glare up and see a pair of sparkling hazel eyes staring down at me.
"Um, hi. I'm Vance. What's your name?" The kid says. He looks about my age and let me tell you, this Vance kid is very tall with a caramel colored skin tone. All in all, he is fine.
"I'm Lori," I reply with a smile. He smiles back and sits down across from me.
"I'm new in town and I was wondering if you could show me around sometime," he says shyly.
"How about you buy a map." Sounds like Kameron's done. I look up to see him standing there with our order and he looks pissed.
Vance quickly stands up. "I don't want any trouble, man. I didn't know she was your girl," he says, defending himself. He looks a little scared but who wouldn't be when Kameron is just staring him down.
I laugh, trying to ease the tension. "You can join us Vance, my boyfriend won't do anything." I give Kameron a pointed look. Vance sits back down while keeping an eye on Kameron, who sits down beside me.
"So, where you from?" Kameron asks Vance while popping a fry into his mouth.
"California." He says, looking down at the table.
"Cool, Florida shouldn't be too different. The beaches here probably aren't as awesome, but I'm sure we're a close second." I say in a sweet voice. It's so adorable how shy he is. It reminds me of my brother. He was so shy whenever he went out in public.
