Chapter 2-Birthright
I could feel myself waking up. I kept my eyes shut as I didn't want to face the fact that this castle was full of Vampires. What did that old vampire mean about it being my birthright? Did this have something to do with who my father is? No it couldn't be, mum told me he died right after I was born. Suddenly I heard a door open and footsteps that came across the floor where ever I was."Has she woken yet?" asked a deep male voice.
"Not yet, your majesty," replied a women.
"As soon as she does please send someone to get me, she must be scared being with people she doesn't know and the fact that two days ago she wasn't even aware that vampires existed," said the male voice.
"Of course, your majesty," answered the women.
I heard footsteps heading away from me and a door closing. Why was the King of vampires so interested in me? For the first time I realized that I was laying on a bed that was so soft that my bed at home should be jealous. I heard someone get up from beside me and walk a couple of steps. A sound like water sloshing everywhere filled the room. I wonder what that women was doing. I heard her come back over and I could feel her right next to me. Then something wet was placed of my forehead and I flinched. Oh crap! Did the women see that?
"Hope dear, are you awake?" the women asked.
It was no point pretending anymore, I opened my eyes and saw a women standing over me. I moved away from her as far as I could without falling of the bed and pulled the sheets up until only my head was above them.
"There's no need for that, we aren't going to hurt you," said the women.
"But-but you are going to turn me into one of you," I stuttered.
"Only because it is your birthright and destiny," said the women.
"What's all this talk about birthright?" I asked.
"I will let other people tell you as it is not my place," replied the women.
"Why isn't it your place?" I asked.
"I am but only a servant, we don't announce royal business" said the women.
"Sorry, I didn't know," I said quietly.
"Hope dear, its fine. You don't know our customs. But I better go tell His Majesty that you are awake," said the women.
The women walked across the room and disappeared out the door. I was finally alone. How many days have passed since I had a normal perception on life? I looked around the room I was in. It was HUGE! It had a large dresser, bedside tables and a vanity that was all made from red oak. The ceiling had engravings of angels and was painted a sky blue. The walls were painted light purple and the floorboards were made out of red oak. Well vampires really like using red oak. I was sitting in four poster bead with a lace canopy and the white sheets felt like silk.
I slipped out of the bed and walked over to a closed door and opened it. Inside was the largest closet I have ever laid my eyes on. It looked like there was a million clothes ranging from ball gowns to jeans and t-shirts. And behind that I saw something so I went to investigate. I stood in a massive bathroom with white tiles and dark grey walls. A large bath that could fit at least four people in it and the vanity that had so many draws. I opened them and found every shade of make up in the world. In the back of the room there was a large shower that had gold trimmings.
On the vanity I found a brush and looked at myself in the mirror. I was a mess! I picked up the brush and started brushing my hair. Every time that the brush would touch a knot I would wince. Two minutes later I looked back in the mirror. Finally I looked a little bit decent. I wondered back to the main part of the room and went and sat on the window seat. I looked out the window and saw a beautiful meadow. Flowers of every shape and colour blossomed around a sparkling lake that shone like diamonds. A part of me felt like this was my home and my eyes slowly started to close.
