Chapter 4-Dylan's PerceptionHope and I walked slowly down the corridor to dinner. I felt tempted to hold her hand but I held back. From the moment I laid my eyes on her when I was thrown into the car and she spoke to me I felt like she was the one. When we were in the car together I yearned to know more about her but I was in shock of being grabbed by a vampire to really speak.
When Hope got out of the car and walked into the castle I wanted to somehow grab her and escape but before I could think of escaping another vampire grabbed me roughly out of the car. He led me to the room behind the thrones and chained me to the chair.
"You'll make a nice meal for the princess," the vampire said.
After that he left and I was alone. I didn't know how much time had passed but someone came down but I couldn't see them until they stepped into the light. It was Hope, and she was a vampire. I was in shock. What had they done to her? She was told to kill me but refused. Did she like me? I just wanted to be with her so when she asked if she could turn me I said yes. Only because I didn't want to die as I wanted to be with her.
When she bit me all I did was scream. It was excruciating! Every second she sucked my life away. And everything went black.
When I started to wake up, I felt someone holding my hand. It was Hope. I saw her move so I said "You lied to me." Seriously that is what I said. I nearly went to jump off a bridge that's how stupid I sounded. When I asked her to lay up with me I was surprised when she did it. I was even more surprised that she stood up to her father when he caught us cuddling. I thought she would brush it off like nothing happened.
Standing next to her now, I couldn't help but smile. She was so beautiful. Her purple dress flowed off her body gracefully and her blonde curls bounced every time she walked. By the time we reached the dining room she was all I could think about. The doors opened and the smell of food radiated the air. There was a long table with more food than I could imagine ranging from roast chicken to chocolate cake. The servants rushed over and guided us to our seats.
"Here is a toast to Hope, the savior," bellowed the King.
"I don't really know what I am meant to save," Hope whispered in my ear.
"You may now eat," announced the King.
Our plates were already full with food which smelt awesome. I smelt something that didn't belong to the food. I looked at Hopes plate and saw a black powder on the piece of chicken she was lifting up. She was about to eat poison! I slapped the piece of chicken out of her hand and everyone looked at me as if I was crazy.
"What is the meaning of this, commoner?" Asked the King angrily.
"I saw black powder on Hope's food and it looks to be poison," I answered. What will happen if I was wrong? Would he kill me?
"Servants, check the princesses food," The King ordered.
Servants rushed from everywhere and took Hope's plate away after a few seconds.
"The boy is right Your Majesty, the princess's food has been poisoned. She would be dead right now if it weren't for him," said a servant.
"Guards, escort Hope and the boy up to the princess's room and stand guard. Don't let anyone in or out," ordered The King anxiously.
We were whisked away and shoved into Hope's room. I heard a lock when the door closed.
"Thank you for saving me back there, you're my hero," said Hope.
She ran over to me and wrapped her arms around me. She held me tightly and I put my arms around her. After a while she let me go. I was disappointed. It felt great with her in my arms. What she did next surprised me. She stepped towards me and her body was right up against mine. She wrapped her arms around me and brought her soft lips onto mine. She kissed me and it felt like I was floating in the clouds. I kissed back and what seemed like forever she broke away.
