10:30

"How long have you been in here, Jess?" Mack looked from me to him.

"Just got here actually. When I found out that you two hadn't made it back, I came to find you. Plus we don't have enough food for everyone." He smiles and grabs a duffle bag. "So how did you two find each other?"

"I almost killed her." Mack says with a smile. "When I tripped and lost you, I stayed right there and waited. After about an hour of hearing all kinds of noises, I closed my eyes and kept calm. Then I heard foot steps and a voice. I turned and ran at the person with your bat held tight in my hands."

"I yelled at her and she snapped back to reality." I say and give a smile fake smile.

"Well let's get moving then. Everyone is worried about you two." He slings the bag over his shoulder and walks to the front door.

"Wait! We cant go that way. Those things are waiting out there." I stop in my tracks and so does Jess.

He looks at me and smiles then starts walking again. He has never been afraid of anything, I'm jealous of that. Mack walks past me and pulls me along. As we exit the building the creatures don't seem to notice us at first. We make it to the alley way and book it back to the safety of our abandoned building.

11:45

When we get to the building Jess knocks three times, the door opens and a gun is pointed at us. Molly runs passed and latches on to me, Tanner lowers the gun and steps aside.

"Is that anyway to great someone Tanner? Honestly it's like you are scared or something." Jess teases as he enters.

"Oh shut up and get inside. What took you so long to find them? Don't you have a Brady tracker?" Tanner knows how Jess feels about me and how I feel about Jess, though we don't know it ourselves.

"No I don't. That was disabled when all this mess started." Jess says back with a blush.

16:00

After Molly finally let me go, I head up to the roof to keep a look out. Mack follows me and lays her head on my back as I lay on my stomach. She has always loved the sky, clouds made her happy and the sun made her feel safe. The stars could put her to sleep and on the coldest nights the moon kept her warm. She is so strange.

"Look at it Brady. The sun is going down and the sky is a rainbow of color. It's beautiful!" She reaches her hand toward the sky and smiles.

"I'm jealous of the sky. While everything is going crazy down here on earth, the sky stays calm and doesn't change." I say looking through the sight on my sniper.

"That's try but even when the sky doesn't seem to change there are things about it that does." She looks at me and rolls to get stomach next to me. "You have changed alot Brady."

"No I haven't. I'm still a coward and a baby." I don't even look at her and I can see her frown.

I back away from the gun and sit up with my legs crossed. "I'm going home tonight, there is something there I forgot."

"No you can't go home alone. What if those creatures get you? What will Tanner and Jess say when they find out? How will I survive being away from you again? What...."

"Mack! Don't worry, I will be back before sunrise. I forgot something and really need to get it." I smile at her and lay her head in my lap. "Besides your a big girl and can take care of yourself."
