(Johns POV)

"Tick tock. Tick tock" the clock ticked on the wall of our-...my flat now, like it does every day. Counting down the seconds to minutes, to hours, till the end of the day. "Knock, knock, knock" someone's at the door...I don't really care. I know it's been awhile since his de-...passing. I still can't bring myself to say it. He can't be gone. Not him, not Sherlock Holmes.

"John, dear. I brought you some tea..." Mrs. Hudson slowly opened the door and poked her head in. "

...no, thank you" I didn't care about tea... I think I'm going through the denial part of grieving. But it's not denial! He can't be gone! He's too brilliant! Also I've been having strange dreams... Is that a symptom of grieving? I've always had the dreams though.. Of me going on strange adventures... A warrior of some sort I think.

Sighing as she put the tray down, Mrs. Hudson sat next to me. "John, you can't just ignore everything and stay locked up here forever"

I put my face in my hands. "He can't be gone. Moriarty IS real. And Sherlock is not a fake!"

Mrs. Hudson paused before answering, considering her words. "I know dear, but you have to move on in life...he'd want that"

I just stayed silent, thinking. With a pat of my leg she walked to the door. "Maybe take a walk, clear your mind. Get out of the flat" and just like that I was alone again. Just me and my thoughts. Maybe I should take a walk... Agh! That blasted cane!! ...blasted limp. Yet again another reminder of Sherlock. With a sigh I picked it up and limped out of our- ...out of the flat.

As I walked out of the building, I saw Mrs. Hudson smile out of the corner of my eye. Probably happy that I'm leaving the flat. I sigh and take a deep breath of air. It did feel good to get out of the flat...I'm extremely thankful no reporters are here. They had tried to talk to me but I haven't left in so long I guess they gave up, thankfully! Maybe I'll visit Molly...she must be going through what I'm feeling. I hailed a cab and went to go see Molly. I'll invite her to lunch, I'm sure she could use a break.

(Sherlocks POV)

I feel horrible. But I did it for John, Mrs. Hudson, and Molly...sweet Molly. No, Sherlock! You can't visit. But I could visit Molly... No, I know I can't. It wouldn't be fair to her. Trying to act like I'm really dead when she knows I'm not. I pulled my coat closer, against the wind and kept walking...I saw a man with a cane walking and I stopped dead in my tracks. It was John! I quickly remembered he couldn't know I'm alive. Hiding, I watched him as he walked...he looked so sad. Frowning at his limp, I realized I had forgotten about it.

He got into a cab, and I watched as it drove away. That was the first time I had seen him since the fall. I really do miss them. But they can't ever know. It's for their own good. Tightening my scarf, I walked off.

(Johns POV)

I walked in the lab with a smile trying to make it easier for Molly.

"Oh, hi John" she smiled but it looked a bit sad...probably the way I look.

"How are you holding up?"

She took a minute to answer

"fine. I mean considering.."

"Yeah, know what you mean." And I really do..well except I wasn't in love with Sherlock. Both our smiles had faded.

"Lunch?" I suggested with a smile.

"That'd be nice" she smiled but it seemed empty. Then again mine was too. I opened the door for her as she exchanged a lab coat for hers.

We went to a simple little place, around the corner, and sat outside.

She asked me "how are YOU holding up?"

How to answer this? I'm not fine or okay Sherlock is gone and I don't want to admit it... I decided on "Alright"

She nodded knowing what I meant. Just as she was about to speak a bullet hit the wall beside us. Shocked we both turned to look at it. It just barely missed us. "Thunk!" Another one hit right next to it creating two holes. Instinctively I hit the ground and pulled Molly with me.

"What's going on?! Who'd want to kill us!?" Molly shrieked.

"I don't know...come on!" I grabbed her hand and we started running. "Thunk, thunk, thunk" we turned a corner into an ally. It was like they were sending us somewhere, trying to guide us. I looked over my shoulder and we ran right into someone! We fell to the ground. Me, Molly and the stranger.

"Sorry!" I quickly got up and helped Molly up. "Thunk thunk" they kept shooting!

"Quite alright." the stranger said as he walked away quickly from the shooting with his head turned.

But that voice! I grabbed Molly's hand again and started running after that man. It was crazy but I had to know. It looked and sounded like Sherlock!
