The gong boomed loudly. I ran and grabbed a lilac backpack that was near the platform. As soon as I grabbed it, I bolted the other way towards the forest. The arena was a desert-ish type thing with a lush green forest at the other side. I was half way to the forest when I felt myself being wrestled to the ground. "NO! GET OFF OF ME!" I grunted as I tried to push my attacker off of me. "Never! Not until you're dead!" I heard a girl voice exclaim. I looked up into the eyes of the girl who wanted so badly to kill me. It was the girl from 8. Her name was Serena. She was stronger in real life than she looked when she was reaped. I kneed her in the stomach hard. "OW! You'll PAY FOR THAT!" She exclaimed, doubling over in pain. I took the chance and I ran at full speed towards the forest. I was there in a matter of 2 minutes. I remembered what Rue had taught me about climbing. I attempted to climb the nearest tree but I fell on my butt. I got up and brushed myself off. I found another tree with a hole in it, big enough for me to climb inside. I frantically scrambled inside just as Serena got into the forest. "WHERE ARE YOU YA LITTLE BRAT?!" She growled. "There you are" she sneered. She grabbed me by my braid and yanked me out of the hole in the tree. "GUNNAR!" I screamed as loud as I could. "Looks like your little boyfriend can't save you now" Serena smirked, pulling out a knife. "Let me go Serena!" I yelled. "Nope, I won't give up until you're dead!" She exclaimed and laughed evilly. "What if I told you I was pregnant?" I said. "Well... Then I'd be killing 2 innocent lives- which is what I live for" she smiled evilly, her eyes sparkling with hate. I closed my eyes and waited for the knife to plunge into my chest.
