I sat on a large rock, staring out over the horizon at the setting sun. "Prim's really gone..." I muttered sadly to myself. "Hey Catnip" Gale sighed sadly, sitting down next to me. "Hey" I sighed back in response. "How ya holding up?" He asked. He didn't need to ask- he knew. I just looked at him. "She's gone Gale... Prim's gone forever" I choked out. "I know. But we have to stay strong" Gale smiled sadly. "I can't stay strong Gale. I just can't" I sobbed. "I know its hard, but its what Prim would've wanted if she was still here. And remember that she's always watching over us and shes always with us in spirit" he said softly, bringing me into a hug. "I know she's gone but I just don't want to believe it. It's just so surreal" I choked out. "I know. Same her Catnip. Same here" he responded. We stayed like that, crying together, looking out over the horizon, watching the sun until it disappeared completely behind the faraway mountains. We sat there long after the sun had set. The moon was rising slowly in the sky and stars started to sprinkle the inky blue sky. "You wanna head back?" Gale asked. "No. I wanna stay here" I sniffled. "Okay" he responded. After a few minutes, Gale cupped my head in his hands. "What are you doing Gale?" I sighed. "Just looking at how stunning you are under the moonlight" he smiled. Even though it was dark, it was still pretty easy to see each other. I rolled my eyes. Then he did something that I never expected. He kissed me. He slowly but passionately kissed me. We pulled away and I smiled. It was the first time I smiled since... Well... before Prim was even reaped for the Hunger Games.
