Bumps On The Road

Chapter 12

I threw on a sweatshirt, grabbed Ava's diaper bag and took Ava, Harry took the stroller and we headed to the stadium.
We walked through the hallways backstage and finally settled in the dressing room with everyone else, I said a warm hello to my boys and friends and they cooed at Ava, asking all sorts of stuff and I was back to my old schedule of hanging out backstage while we waited for the show to start. I loved it. I loved hanging around with everyone we always have a blast, we ate, we sang, we watched tv it was always fun. I loved it when we had visitors like myself or Gemma would join and Tom and Lux would come for a few weeks, Eleanor would come too, I'd sometimes have my sister Olive come and keep me company when she was out of school and she wanted to visit.
I was not the only add on for this tour, we were joined by my bestie Lux and Gemma and Val.
Backstage was a happening place, Harry and Gemma surprised me. Gemma came to help me out, I was super happy to see Ava's new auntie.
I lounged on the sofa with Ava on my chest sleeping, my feet in Niall's lap, Harry playing with Lux and Michael, Marco reading tidbits to us outloud.
It came 5:30, time for soundcheck, I was left in the room with the girls, we had a chat, Lux started complaining to Lou and she got all cranky so I volunteered to take her out given I needed air and missed Lux so much.
I handed Ava to Gemma putting her tiny body in her aunt's capable hands.
I got my slippers on and took Lux's hand. She didn't want to walk she wanted to be held so taking into consideration my body's soreness and aches I reasoned with her, I bent down to get to her level "Lux just for a little bit ok, Emily's tummy hurts because she had a baby yeh?" She rubbed her eye,sniffled and nodded, I picked her up setting her on my hip, "baby?" She asked in her tiny English accent curious where and what baby I was talking about "Ava. Baby Ava did you see? Uncle Harry and auntie Emily had a baby" I smiled at her, she looked ahead grasping this new information, putting the pieces together. We walked on looking around, exploring. I found a water fountain "should we fill up your sippee?" I took her pink sippee cup from her, put her down and filled it up.
I took her hand and we continued on, thinking we might as well go see the boys in soundcheck we popped in, going thorough side stage we were spotted just by a few fans but it gets around quickly and well there was a hub now and the boys were distracted, they saw me and Lux joined them, Harry's face lite up and I waved, Lux waved to Harry.
It was question time, "before we start with the questions I think that we need to give a round of applause for Harry's wife Emily for giving birth to their beautiful baby girl Ava who is backstage probably screaming " Liam said into his microphone the crowd cheered, the boys clapped Harry on the back, "thank you Emily" he turned to me with a smile I nodded back.
The questions were asked, Lux wanted to be held so I carried her, she settled on my shoulder falling asleep as I swayed to the silly questions, some were asked about Ava, some were asked to the other boys, they sang a rock version on Last First Kiss and soundcheck was over, I returned inside with Lux half asleep on my shoulder, Harry was there, we walked back together to the dressing room, we walked inside Lou was holding Ava trying to calm her screams, as soon as I walked in she laughed at Lux who was sleeping on me "alright I think we should trade yeh?" She came to me I laughed "babe take Ava" I told Harry. I settled Lux in her buggy, strapped her in took her blanket and tucked her in.
I turned to Ava and Harry who was checking her diaper if she needed a change "aha I found it!" I said victoriously " great you're changing her" I replied, he settled on the couch as I got out what he needed.
After meet and greet they had an hour till show time, Louis insisted that we watch the next episode of CSI Miami, Harry being the gentleman he is brought me dinner from the buffet. Ava was asleep in her stroller and we were just chilling.
Preston came in announcing "show time! Lets go" 9 boys piled out of the room Ashton, Luke, Michael, Zayn, Liam, Harry, Niall, Calum and Louis.
Wanting to keep it calm we stayed backstage and Gemma put on a Harry Potter since she was watching them all, Lou and I didn't mind, I used my iPad, while Ava slept, Lou spoke to Tom.
2 and half hours later, the show was over and we packed up, jumped into our vans. Liam Louis and Niall headed to a pub, Zayn and Harry came back with us to the hotel, not wanting to socialize just wanted to sleep we headed straight to bed.
