"That's how you know you love someone, I guess, when you can't experience anything without wishing the other person were there to see it, too."

I dragged myself from bed to go to the bathroom. Another 8 hours of stupid school for me to go to. That's what I thought initially.
The reflection that stared back at me told me otherwise. Yesterday's fight was still fresh on my face. I had a few scars, but they were pretty big - and they had turned from red to purple.
Well, damn.
I can't go to school looking like this. Too many questions will be asked and Carly and Freddie would put two and two together and know that I was fighting yesterday, since they saw that I didn't have scars on my face the previous day.
The teachers aren't a main concern to me. I could lie my way out of the situation and they'd let me off the hook.
Somehow, a lazy grin formed on my face as my feet dragged the rest of my body back to my warm bed. I don't get to go to school today - and I have a reason not to.
Obviously, Freddie or Carly would come to check up on me. But I have the right to stay silent. This is America. It's a free country. I don't have to be forced to do what other people want.
But, just in case they think I got run over by a bus, I sent both of them a quick text to say that I was sick and I needed to stay home.
Then I put my phone back to where was, climbed into bed and dozed off to sleep.
I slept for another good 3 hours without my ma waking me up or making noise. She wasn't even home. Last thing I remember her saying was that she was going to the psychiatrist.
And that was yesterday morning.
Well, whatever. My mood changed when I woke up. I was a bit more cheerful. I even swung my arms and did a little dance I walked to the fridge.
Sleep is the only thing that I need to keep me sane and happy. Sleep, food and a good fight.
I raided the fridge and picked out the tub of fried chicken that I ordered last night. Then I grabbed the two litres of soda that sat on the counter.
I went over my to-do list as I walked over to the couch. Food. Check. Drink. Check. Season 2 of Celebrities Underwater. Check.
As I plopped on the couch, I sighed. I love being "sick".

The pounding on the door was what snapped me awake. I snorted awake, only for me to choke on the chicken bone that was in my mouth.
My hands locked on my throat as I coughed it out and watched it land on the table. Looking disgusted, I put it in the tub of the other chicken bones and took a swig of my soda.
The person on the other side of the door demanded my attention once more and I grumbled under my breath as I turned off the TV to answer the door.
I looked through the peephole and nearly got a heart attack when I saw that it was Freddie. What the heck was he doing here? Shouldn't he be at school.
Or how long was I out?
My PearPhone was still in my room and the clock was broken, so I had to rely on the window. Judging from the lighting, I can say that it's about 5:30.
"What do you want, Benson?" I yelled from my side of the door, when he knocked on the door again.
"I came here to see you," He replied. "Carly made for you some soup but didn't have time to give it to you because she had something to do. So she asked me to give it to you instead,"
