I ran.

I ran faster than I ever had before.

I was still running. I was being chased. I am an idiot.

I was an Assassin. What did you expect?

Yay me.

I pushed off a crate and pulled myself on to the next rooftop.

I was raised to be an Assassin from a young age, when I was forced out my village by a fire. A man took me on after that moment, and trained me to be the woman I was today.

I have my reasons for wanting to be a trained killer.

I dropped down from the taller roof down to the lower one, then flew forward and landed on a balcony on the next building in in front of me. From there, I launched myself forward and swung off a flagpole, landing on a carriage.

I have been attempting to kill the man whom burned my village for years. Many times I have almost done so. As they say, close yet no cigar.

I glanced back at him. He was wearing an old looking, tri-corn, navy blue captain's hat and a long, navy blue coat. I turned my attention back to what was in front of me. I needed to break his line of sight. He had a clear view of me and I needed to shatter that view.

Wow, way to state the obvious.

The carriage made a sudden stop as I went to launch forward. The sudden stop threw me off guard and instead of going forward like I wanted, I fell head over heels to the ground. When I hit the ground, I startled a horse, which bucked and dropped several items on top of me.

How did that happen? I know I am uncoordinated but damn, I can't be that bad.

I realized that I had closed my eyes, so I opened them. What had been dropped on top of me was soft and dampened my view of the world. I reached out to touch the material.

Cotton.

In one swift movement, I yanked out my dagger and sliced through the soft and thin material. I was pissed that this had stopped me in my tracks. Once I was standing, I saw that very few civilians had gathered to see what had happened. A group of redcoats just gave me a mere glance before mind their own business.

Good.

I sheathed my dagger than stood. The people around me started to depart as I gave them a reassuring smile to send them on their way. I didn't wait for them to get out of sight before I flung myself forward, aiming to get as far away from her as fast as possible. However, this didn't get me far.

Thump.

A hand snatched my lose hood and yanked me back. I yelped, hoping to grab attention from the civilians, but with no such luck.

Shit. This is it.

I thrashed around with the intent of escaping his hold. With no luck. Damn my small body. The man did nothing but release a chuckle, which did nothing but enrage me more. "I wouldn't if I were you. It wouldn't be wise."
