CALUMS POV
I pull into my driveway and park my car.
God, I messed up. Luke will probably hate me forever, and Carter... oh, Carter. If she doesn't forgive me, then I'll have lost two people I care about.
I head into my house and sneak up to my room. My parents are already sleeping, so I try to be extra quiet. When I get into my room, I shut the door and grab my phone. I call Luke.
Ring.... Ring.... Ring.... Ring... Then his voicemail. I call again.
Ring... Then it ends. He denied my call. I text him.
To Lukeeeee: Luke answer me
When he doesn't respond, I text him again.
To Lukeeeee: WE NEED TO TALK
Again, no response. I decide to drive to his house. I sneak out of my house, hoping the sound of my car won't wake my parents.
I drive to Luke's house and park on the street. I look at the clock. It's only 10:05. His parents would probably still be awake. I knock quietly on the door. Liz peeks through the small window on the door then opens it for me.
"Calum," she says. "What are you doing here?" she asks politely.
"I just need to talk to Luke, and he won't answer my calls, so..." I respond.
"Do your parents know you're here?" she questions.
"No, but-" She gives me a stern look. "I'll only be a few minutes. Please?"
"Alright then," she says. "He's in his room."
I head to his room. I knock on the door.
"Who is it?" comes his voice.
"It's me, Calum," I say.
"What the hell do you want?" he says.
"I just want to talk. To explain," I say. "Please, Luke. Just let me explain."
He doesn't say anything, and I stand there waiting. Finally, the door opens and Luke stands facing me. He opens the door wider to let me in, and I walk into his room. I sit on the floor while he sits on his bed. He looks at me, and I take that as my cue to start talking.
"Ok. I know how you said that you liked Carter, and I know it was dumb and stupid to ask her out, but after working with her last week, I liked her too. And I didn't want to lose her to you, so I asked her out before you could," I admit. "I know, it was selfish, and I'm a jackass, but please, forgive me. We don't have to fight like animals over Carter. Let's just let her pick who she wants. Ok?" Luke looks at me.
"Ok," he says. I sigh with relief.
"Good," I say. "I've gotta go."
I get up and head back to the front door. Liz sees me and says, "Everything ok?"
"Yup. It's all good," I say.
"Alright. You better get home now."
"Ok," I reply.
Back at home, I park my car and sneak back up to my room. I lay in bed and fall asleep.
