LUKES POV
It's 10:00, and my phone buzzes. I look at it and see that it's from Carter. I smile, and butterflies consume my stomach. I check it and it says
From Car<3: We need to talk
To Car<3: ok do u want me to come over
From Car<3: ya
To Car<3: ok. ill be there in 5
I hop in my car and drive down to her house. I knock on the door, and she answers quickly. I smile. She gives a small smile, but I can tell her heart's not in it.
"Are you okay?" I ask. She doesn't reply. She just sits down on the couch.
"Luke," she starts. She's starting to scare me. What's going on?
"I choose Calum."
When those 3 words come out of her mouth, my heart breaks.
"What?" I choke. Tears threaten my eyes.
"I choose Calum," she repeats. "I'm so sorry, Luke."
"How could you do that? We didn't even go on one date?" I ask, completely heartbroken.
"I love him," she says.
"Ya, but I'm pretty sure you said that to me, too," I spit.
"I know, Luke, and I meant it, but the feelings I have for Cal... It's something I can't explain," she explains.
"You didn't even give me a chance!" I yell. Tears are running down both of our faces.
"I did," she defends. "I thought about you every time I was with Calum, I didn't forget about you. It's just, Calum makes me feel things I've never felt before. It's special."
"Whatever," I say and head for the door.
"Luke..." she says. I don't look back. I get in my car and drive away from the girl I love. Again.
