CH I

This is it!

I feel my breathing intensify with every step I take. I don't know what awaits me on the other side of that door. Only a few weeks ago, I was preparing my luggage for a 24 hours journey to a completely different continent.

In my suitcases are my itinerary and ticket: "Australia – London;" my passport; a few family pictures, and a bunch of clothes.

Now, I'm standing in the hallway of the airport, with my two suitcases in my hands. Thousands of people pass around me, but I'm too busy trying to control my nerves to notice them. I am too nervous to focus on what others are doing. Each step I take makes me think that I'll have a heart attack. Cold sweat runs down my forehead and I start grinding my teeth in anxiety; I can fee the adrenaline in my body.

Finally, I reach the exit. There are many people - lots of movement, lots of noise - but my ears are too deaf to hear. I keep looking for someone, a familiar face… and then I spot it - my name written on a large orange poster, which is being held by a small redheaded girl. Her deep blue eyes are sparkling, and she has a sweet smile.

"Caitlin," I murmur to myself.

Next to her is a tall woman with snow-white skin. Her feline shaped, sky-blue eyes, match the tousled, blonde hair falling over her shoulders. Gosh! Claire is beautiful. And behind them is a boy. He must be Kane. His gaze is directed on his Ipod, and one of his hands is in his pants’ pocket. That golden haired guy looks like a heartbreaker.

I take a few steps toward them until my eyes finally meet theirs. Well, Claire and Caitlin's. All the nerves are gone. I feel more relaxed, and suddenly I just… smile.
